The Porometer 3G series of capillary flow porometers delivers accurate and repeatable through-pore size distribution results, typically within only 30 minutes for any sample. As they do not require constant calibration of the pressure gradient within the flow path, multi-instrument alignment is much simpler. Sample throughput is greatly increased by their simplified operation and measurement speed. Three models are available to fit the specific air permeability and pore size characteristics of a wide range of membranes and filtration media. Measures pores from 0.07 μm to 500 µm. The unique design of Porometer 3G eliminates the need for calibrations. Capillary flow porometry measurements involve both a “wet curve” (the flow resulting from the expulsion of wetting fluid from pores at different pressures) and a “dry curve” (the flow through the material over the pressure range of the measurement when wetting fluid is present)

The cold trap ensures an efficient evacuation step – saving valuable time. PoreMaster instruments avoid the problems of under-equilibrated data and insufficient measurement resolution. With the unique AutoSpeed function, they pressurize at the fastest rate until intrusion is detected and then slow the rate to collect a continuous measure of equilibrated data, reducing analysis time.
