Launched in 2000, Tata Tiscon is the first Thermo Mechanically Treated (TMT) steel bar in the country. It is the only rebar in India to have been honored with the 'Superbrand' status. TATA Tiscon bars are made from pure steel, with the most advanced TMT manufacturing technology from Tempcore, Belgium. Tata Tiscon Rebars usually come in Fe 500D and Fe 500SD grades which have greater ductility than usual Fe 500 grade making them useful in earthquake prone areas.

Fe 500D : It is manufactured through a superior quality steel making process to reduce the levels of impurities like Sulphur and Phosphorous. These impurities decrease the strength of steel in extreme hot and cold conditions. TATA Tiscon 500D is available in sizes from 6mm to 40mm.

Fe 500SD : It is manufactured through process that involves use of special chemicals and treatment post rolling. This makes the rebars more ductile than TATA Tiscon 500D . This grade is helpful in preventing collapse of buildings during earthquakes. It is available in sizes from 6mm to 32mm
