Fabric dyeing and finishing are different from woven fabric finishing because there is no decatising operation. This category is typically characterized by operational units such as cleaning, scouring, bleaching, mercerizing, dyeing and special finishing. This category includes plants which clean, dye and finish fibre stock or fabric. Sewing thread, textile and carpet fabric are typical products in this category. Several techniques are available for processing raw fabric into the finished product. The most common process is probably package dyeing, in which fabric wound on perforated tubes is placed in a large vessel, which is sealed. The dye solution, at an appropriate temperature, is circulated through the fabric. The dyed fabric is washed, rinsed and dried. The fabric is then unraveled and the fabric is wound on cones for subsequent use by other mills. Figure1 represents typical operation of a stock and fabric dyeing and finishing mill.

Our experienced team operates some of the most modern and flexible machines in the industry, capable of printing the most complex designs.
We can print up to 8 colours in six different repeat sizes on rotary, and up to 25 colours at a nominal one-metre repeat on flat screen. Our combination rotary and flat machine allows us to print an unlimited number of colours on runs as low as 75 metres; the flexibility of this machine makes it possible to reproduce the 'bloom' that was the hallmark of hand block printing.

Vat dyes are used widely in the furnishing trade because they have the best all round wet, light and abrasion fastness characteristics. This is because they are permanently absorbed into the fabric, not a coating on its surface. This greater depth of colour lets the natural beauty of the cloth shine through for longer. Vat printed fabrics feel softer and resist wear, dry cleaning and washing better.

Our exquisite devore prints are produced when the original fabric is woven from a mixture of cotton or viscose fibres with polyester. A burnout paste is then printed on to the fabric. This literally burns away the cotton or viscose in the selected areas leaving a delicate web of polyester.
