AVL CRUISE™ M enables investigating and optimizing vehicle thermal and energy management in both steady and transient mode supporting the prediction of Real Driving Emissions (RDE).

The time scale of thermal energy transport is significantly larger than the one of momentum transport. Therefore flow and energy fields are obtained through a time-step based coupled solution of both equations:

  • The Incompressible Flow Network (IFN) applies the mass balance at node points and the transient or quasi-steady momentum balance in all elements including empirical pressure drop correlations.
