Trigger Point Therapy

Get Latest Price

Trigger points, also known as myofascial trigger points, are areas of hyperirritability in the soft tissue structure. These can be acute sources of pain or latent, unnoticed by the client until pressure is applied by the practitioner. Trigger points are manifested as small contraction knots in the muscles, that control the state of contraction and active ones may cause muscle spasm and referred pain.
Treatment consists of physical therapy, manipulation and stretching. A firm digital pressure is applied by the practitioner, who is able to locate the specific points causing pain and restricted movement and these may often be located in places different to where the client actually feels the pain.
Trigger Point Therapy is sometimes incorporated with Sports Massage and the client is usually unclothed for the treatment, which may not include the use of oil. Other factors such as nutrition, stress and chronic illness are also considered, as potential contributors towards the problem.

Get Latest Price

Reflexology is based on the principle that congestion or tension in any part of the foot mirrors congestion or tension in a corresponding part of the body. These parts, known as reflex points can also be found on the hands and other body parts, however, the most commonly treated area is the feet.
Benefits of Seeing a Reflexologist :
Reflexology has many beneficial and lasting effects. Some treatments are gentle in nature, aiming to restore systems for better function while others are more specific, addressing the client's particular conditions. It is a healing process that can be safely used when it is not convenient to treat other body parts. As a non-intrusive technique, it heals indirectly. Reflexology can be a relaxing therapy that works on many levels, soothing, calming, balancing and boosting the entire body.
General benefits of Reflexology include :

  • Reduced stress and tension
  • Improved circulation
  • Reduced toxicity
  • Improved immunity

Acupressure Therapy

Get Latest Price

Acupressure is one of the oldest and most widespread healing methods in the world. By using deep finger pressure at certain points, practitioners can reduce tension, increase circulation and offer relief for many complaints.
The points triggered are located along an invisible system of energy channels within the body, known as meridians and relate directly to organs and glands of the body where constrictions in the flow of energy at these points cause disease and discomfort. The gentle pressure applied to these points removes blockages promoting health and harmony throughout the body.
Acupressure deals with all aspects of a person considering body, emotions, mind and spirit as one, not as separate parts. The healing touch of acupressure relieves stress thus strengthening resistance to disease and supporting a longer, healthier, more vital life. It also increases blood circulation and aids in the removal of toxic wastes.
The patient usually lies fully clothed on a soft massage table while the practitioner presses gently on points situated on various parts of the body. The session is non-invasive and gentle. An average session lasts for about one hour, and a number of sessions are normally required to complete treatment.
