A Helideck Assistant, also known as a Helideck Assistant Consultant, primarily supports the safe and efficient operation of helicopter landings and takeoffs on helidecks, particularly in offshore environments. Their responsibilities include marshaling helicopter movements, loading/offloading passengers and cargo, and ensuring compliance with regulations and safety protocols. Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Marshaling and Guidance:Directing and guiding helicopter movements on the helideck, ensuring proper positioning and spacing for landings and takeoffs. 
• Passenger and Cargo Handling:Assisting with the safe boarding and disembarking of passengers, and the loading and unloading of cargo. 
• Safety and Emergency Procedures:Understanding and adhering to helideck safety procedures, emergency response protocols, and firefighting procedures. 
• Communication and Coordination:Communicating effectively with the helicopter crew and other personnel involved in the operation. 
• Compliance and Regulations:Ensuring that all operations comply with relevant regulations, guidelines, and safety standards. 
• Equipment Checks and Maintenance:Inspecting and maintaining helideck equipment, such as lighting, warning systems, and safety gear. 
• Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment:Identifying potential hazards and assessing risks related to helicopter operations on the helideck. 

Skills and Qualifications:

• Helideck Operations Training: Completion of relevant training programs for Helideck Assistants, including HDA Initial Training. 
• Knowledge of Helicopter Operations: Familiarity with helicopter types, operations, and safety procedures. 
• Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with helicopter crews and other personnel. 
• Safety Awareness: Understanding of safety protocols and emergency response procedures. 
• Physical Fitness: Ability to work in various weather conditions and handle the physical demands of the job. 
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with helideck equipment and operations.
