  • Gum Bleeding while brushing, flossing, or eating hard food
  • Gums that are receding or pulling away from the teeth, causing the teeth to look longer than before
  • Loose or separating teeth
  • Pus between your gums and teeth
  • Sores in your mouth
  • Persistent bad breath
  • A change in the way your teeth fit together when you bite

Laser Root Canal Treatment Service

New laser technology promises to change the way you experience traditional root canal therapy. After all, we now have air abrasion to fix cavities, so why not incorporate technology to improve the root canal procedure for busy or dental anxiety patients? Laser root canal therapy uses a parallel beam of intense light to clean out root canals. Laser therapy "melts" away debris consisting of bacteria and infection, known as the "smear layer" of the root, and cleans the root more thoroughly than traditional treatments. With less time and pain than a conventional root canal, laser dentistry can remove your infection so that you can get on with your life.

The invention of the Dental Laser from Biolase Technologies has changed the way some dentists perform root canals. Waterlase uses a laser and high-pressure water system to remove dead tissue and infection from the root's canal. The only root canal laser approved by the FDA, the Waterlase system produces enough heat and pressure to remove debris without using drills or hand files, cutting down the time spent in the dental chair. The Waterlase laser cleans the root more thoroughly than conventional root canal techniques. Microorganisms can hide in the dentinal tubules, or tiny holes, of the dentin surrounding the root. With conventional root canals, the cleaning process doesn't always reach all of the tubules, leaving behind some of the bacteria well after the root canal is filled and sealed. The laser penetrates deep into the porous tubules, removing bacteria without damaging the surrounding tissue. While traditional root canal instruments only clean out the tooth's root, the laser actually sterilizes it, increasing your chances of a successful procedure.

Sometimes Less Is More
Laser technology also reduces possible side effects from the root canal procedure. There's no need to worry about files breaking off or getting stuck in the canal. The Waterlase laser also limits the amount of bleeding during dental treatment, and can be used with minimal or no local anesthesia. Post-operative problems of traditional root canals are practically eliminated -- the laser reduces the amount of inflammation, swelling and discomfort often felt as the anesthesia wears off. Patients may not even need pain medication often prescribed following dental surgery.
The Wasterlase laser is perfect for reaching areas that metal instruments don't. Some dentists are combining both the laser and traditional hand pieces for optimal effects. Remember, your dentist's goal is to save your tooth and get you out of pain, so regardless of what type of proce

Oral submucous fibrosis is a pre-cancer condition and it occurs predominantly occurs among Indians and even those settled outside India. The causative factors for the occurrence of this disease are attributed to areca nut chewing, tobacco chewing, consumption of hot chilles and genetic predisposition of people of Indian subcontinent. There are more evidences to suspect that areca nut chewing is the main causative factor. Submucous fibrosis can occur in all parts of oral mucosa.
Diode Laser in Treatment of Oral submucous fibrosis. Laser stands for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. Laser rays are coherent beam of rays that pack lot of energy compared to ordinary light. But the energy delivered can be controlled. There are many applications of Lasers and the characters of laser rays find many application in surgery. The properties of lasers like reflection, absorption, transmission and scattering are all used for beneficial results in surgery. The laser energy can reflect off a surface of the tissue depending on the tissue surface properties and can be absorbed in the tissue cells. In scattering it causes to diffuse the absorption over the large surrounding areas and because of this it is not possible to get precise incision by using this property.

Because of developments in Diode Laser technologies, it has found great applications in surgery due to improved power and precise controllability. It has found great applications in oral surgery practice as well as in other areas. By changing the wavelengths we can control the energy levels and other desired properties that determine incision quality and coagulation parameters. Diode lasers built with semiconductor materials are portable and very compact in size and can be used in different modes such as pulsed or continuous mode. Diode laser surgery can be successfully used in surgical treatment of Submucous fibrosis.

Laser Procedure:
The operating team and the patient are required to wear the protective eye wear. Ideally 0.3 mm diameter cable is used to deliver the beam. Laser hand pieces are used to place the incision at required sites. Incisions are made from the retromolar area to premolar area. These incisions were of 2 mm depth to reach the muscle layer while incising only fibrous mucosa and submucosal layer. The same type of incision is done in the region inferior to this starting at a third distance of superior incision in third molar area up to earlier incision made to form the shape of inverted “Y”.

Laser beam with ideally 5 watt power is directed. The excision of fibrous bands was followed by forcible separation of mucosa. Bilaterally placed incision was made and then the mouth forced open using Fergusson’s mouth gag.

Vernier calipers were used to measure the mouth opening. The mouth opening was measured from maxillary and mandibular incisors. The patients were trained on physiotherapy exercises after ten days after the surgery.

The clinical examination after the surgery shows precision in incision and less postoperative oedema and pain in patients of all age groups and varying degree of the condition.

The follow up examinations after the surgery showed significant improvement in forced mouth opening and later after 10 days and three months these improvement s were sustained for spontaneous mouth openings.

There is no doubt that diode laser surgery is very effective and less invasive technique to treat Submucous fibrosis and offers great relief to the terrible state the patients suffer because of this disease.

Dental Anxiety And Its Management:

If you suffer from dental anxiety, you may benefit from inhalation conscious sedation. Inhalation sedation, or “laughing gas” (nitrous oxide), provides a sedative effect that can be an excellent solution for dental phobias. This sedation dentistry option can be an excellent way to decrease one’s fears about going to the dentist – a first step in obtaining the treatment necessary for a healthy, beautiful smile
“Sleep Dentistry”

Sleep dentistry, or sedation dentistry, is a dental solution designed for patients who dread going to the dentist. Many people feel afraid or uncomfortable when they are placed in vulnerable positions like the dental chair, and may experience dental anxiety as a result. Sleep dentistry is an option for patients who fear dental procedures, fear needles, have difficulty with their gag reflex, have very sensitive teeth, or have difficulty becoming numb from oral injections.

Sleep dentistry offers pain-free and anxiety-free dental procedures as patients are in a deeply relaxed state, though fully responsive. Sleep dentistry also provides an opportunity to perform multiple or lengthy dental procedures in one session, minimizing the number of visits a patient has to make and ultimately reducing the build up of anxiety prior to each dental visit.

Though in extreme cases, or for more complicated procedures, unconscious sedation through general anesthesia may be required, generally sleep dentistry involves conscious sedation. By the time they've arrived, patients will be awake, but drowsy, and anxiety-free. During the procedure, patients aren't unconscious, but mentally "detached" from what's going on, and before they know it, the dentist will be telling them the dental procedure is over and they can go home.

Inhalation Conscious Sedation Dentistry
Inhalation sedation, or nitrous oxide-oxygen, is the most common sedation technique and is also known as laughing gas. Inhalation sedation is a preferable option as patients recover quickly and may leave the dental office alone and immediately resume their normal daily activities. Intravenous conscious sedation is a safe sedation technique and though it is not as readily available as other forms of sedation, it is more effective than administering the same drugs orally. Patients will not remember any of the procedure and will feel as though they were asleep, even though they were wide-awake throughout. When intravenous sedation is used, patients will need to be hooked up to monitoring devices to measure blood pressure, breathing, and heart rate. Patients must have someone escort them when leaving the office after the procedure. Intramuscular sedation involves injecting sedative drugs into the muscle of the upper arm or thigh and is a less common option, typically used in pediatric dentistry.

Anxious or phobic patients find that sleep dentistry offers a perfect solution for maintaining good dental health while being in a totally relaxed state. Sleep dentistry ensures that patients experience no pain or anxiety during their dental procedures, and prevents emergencies that could occur as a result of such anxiety, like fainting. For extremely fearful dental patients, general anesthesia may be required

Dental braces (also known as orthodontic braces, or simply braces) are devices used in orthodontics that align and straighten teeth and help to position them with regard to a person's bite, while also working to improve dental health. They are often used to correct underbites, as well as malocclusions, overbites, cross bites, open bites, deep bites, crooked teeth, and various other flaws of the teeth and jaw. Braces can be either cosmetic or structural. Dental braces are often used in conjunction with other orthodontic appliances to help widen the palate or jaws and to otherwise assist in shaping the teeth and jaws.

Ceramic braces
Ceramic bracesCeramic braces are tooth colored braces that are used to straighten teeth. They are preferred by many people, especially adults who often want to avoid metal braces. Ceramic braces are much less noticeable than metal braces. Self-ligating braces is a dental brace, which utilizes a permanently installed, moveable component to entrap the archwire. Self-ligating braces may be classified into two categories
