Pipe Conveyor

The Pipe Conveyor is an enclosed curve going transportation system for all kinds of bulk materials. At the loading and discharging points, the conveyor system is identical with open troughed conveyors. The difference starts after the loading point, where the belt is formed into its typical tubular shape by special idler arrangements over a certain distance and finally is led through idler panels with hexagonal cut outs and offset idler arrangement. At the discharging point, the belt opens automatically after the final idler panel and transfers the material to its next destination.

Due to its tubular shape, the conveyor is able to manage horizontal and vertical curves as well as high inclinations. The enclosed transportation system not only protects the conveyed material against external influences such as climatic conditions, it also avoids material loss and spillage and thus, protects the environment.

The Pipe Conveyor also meets special requirements such as simultaneous material transport in the upper and lower strand and downhill transport with power-regeneration. It serves the cement and power plants, port handling concepts as well as chemical, steel and mining industries.

Hot materials discharged from the oven cooler at temperatures of up to 600 °C place particularly high demands on conveying equipment. BEUMER apron conveyors offer a choice of cell widths ranging from 500 to 2,000 mm, axis intervals of up to 250 m and transportation volumes of up to 1,255 m3/h to provide optimum system solutions.

The apron conveyor is an economical design for horizontal and inclined conveying up to 28°. An extremely lowcost unit preferred for applications of up to 45° inclination.

Bucket/belt conveyor:

The bucket/belt conveyor is a special design utilizing a steel cable reinforced belt instead of a double side-bar chain as the traction element. Particularly effective with high conveying rates combined with large center distances and extreme conveying heights.

Hinged apron conveyor:

The hinged apron conveyor is a sturdy design for horizontal and slightly inclined transport. Additional partitions make inclinations up to 35° possible.

Hinged bucket conveyor:

The hinged bucket conveyor is used exclusively with varying conveyor routes along with steep inclines and narrow radii (s-curves). The deep buckets with hinges located at the upper edges allow for a low construction height and form a completely sealed conveyor strand.

In case of descending transport, the motors are run in regeneration mode enabling the generation of electrical energy from the kinetic energy of the transported material.
The motors, which are run in motordriven and regeneration mode, are mostly adjustable. This permits an optimum load distribution over the drive units at different operating conditions.

In certain loading conditions, the system is run in regeneration mode. The generated electric energy is fed to the mains by a regenerative feedback unit, enabling a reduction in operating costs of the complete system.

Alternative Fuel Handling

The required energy input causes about 40% of the production costs for the manufacture of cement. Therefore apart from standard combustibles like coal, fuel oil and gas the so called alternative fuels are of considerable interest, besides a useful waste disposal their utilization offers important economical advantages.

Next to waste oil, scrap tires, shredded tires, well as shredded wood, synthetic materials,and oil saturated mineral substances are suitable waste or secondary fuels. Possible alternative fuels are available in large quantities and at a favorable price. They can be disposed in the high temperature process of the rotary kiln systems of cement plants without any risk. There is neither a danger of inadmissible environmental pollution like toxic emissions nor a reduction of the quality of the cement.

Fluidisation plates enable an easy discharge of fine and powdery bulk material avoiding the formation of lumps. This fine and powdery bulk material is loosened and mixed by blowing in air thus facilitating a trouble-free discharge.

Large ventilation surfaces require only small air quantities if the fluidisation plates are subdivided in sectors. The robust design enables an optimal and even material distribution.

Large quantities of bulk materials must be transported by road and by rail. These bulk materials, whether building materials, coal, grain, animal feed, mineral aggregate or products from the chemical industry, are frequently loaded at the production site and transported as mass bulk material to their sites of use by means of appropriate vehicles.
It is essential to provide technical loading and unloading equipment designed for the handling of specific products and exactly adjusted to the assembly conditions. The BEUMER autopac® 3000 is an economic and efficient system for simultaneous loading and palletising of bagged material, such as, cement, lime, gypsum, grain, flour, sugar, plastic granules, food and fertilisers, or similar products. The BEUMER autopac® 3000 is available in mobile and stationary designs and is therefore suited for various applications. These alter - native designs allow an optimum utilization of the dispatch capabilities. Loading and palletising as one operation - this is the proven BEUMER autopac® 3000. Open trucks are automatically loaded with bags directly from the packer onto the loading layers at an hourly capacity of 3.000 bags.

The BEUMER robotpac® palletises and depalletises various types of packages using specifically developed gripper elements. Fork gripper

Whether handling bagged goods or cardboard boxes: the fork gripper ensures reliable, gentle and precise stacking of both product types. It can handle up to 600 units per hour.

Double fork gripper

The powerful double fork gripper stacks bagged goods and cardboard boxes with a capacity of up to 900 units per hour; this is also possible by moving two units per travel path.

Finger gripper

The finger gripper is a high capacity tool for stable bags. It can palletise up to 1,200 bags per hour.

Double finger gripper

The double finger gripper is used if large quantities of stable bags need to be palletised. It can position up to 1,900 bags per hour for the palletising process.

Pallet gripping device

The installation of a pallet gripping device allows for feeding the empty pallets without an additional empty pallet conveyor.

Suction gripper

The suction gripper is recommended for bundles with suctionable surfaces: it can stack up to 400 bundles per hour while gently handling the product. Even unstable packaged goods can be palletised reliably.

Parallel gripper

The parallel gripper performs especially well when palletising stable bundles with parallel side walls, i.e. cardboard boxes: it can stack up to 600 cardboard boxes per hour.

Special gripper

For individual requirements, special gripping systems are developed and dimensioned for the specific products and performance characteristics.

Stockpiles with blending bed systems are used for blending or homogenising raw materials. Once the stacker has built up the stockpile so that its cross-section has the largest possible number of layers of identical material, the bridge scraper assists the maximum homogenisation effect when reclaiming material from the front of the pile. Stockpiles can be set up outdoors or in halls.

When circular stockpiles are set up in a restricted space they are usually fed with material by a slewable stacker. The material is reclaimed from the inside slope of the stockpile. A rotary scraper which can be designed as a portal, semi-portal or lateral scraper is used for this purpose. Optimum utilisation of stockpile capacity is achieved by simultaneous but independent storing and reclaiming.

Ship Loading System

We offer two different systems for ship loading. Coarse bulk materials, such as clinker or lumpy ores, are loaded into bulk carriers via BEUMER Group belt conveying systems and a vertical telescopic loading head, efficiently and without dust. Swivelling and telescopic ship loaders ensure filling most of the cargo space without shifting the ship.

The loading of powdered goods is handled by fully enclosed loading machines. This, in connection with the required filter systems, reduces the environmental impact to a minimum.

Bucket Elevators

Bucket elevators have proven themselves for vertical transport of many and diverse bulk materials for decades. As a market leader, BEUMER Group successfully established the belt bucket elevator technology in the market decades ago.

Belt bucket elevators were consistently developed in the past and enable the highest possible conveying capacities with maximum centre distances today.

Chain bucket elevators are the preferred conveying systems for the transport of hot bulk materials and coarse-grained materials. With its central chain bucket elevators, BEUMER Group offers efficient and proven solutions even for the highest conveying capacities.

Heavy-duty bucket elevators have been developed from belt bucket elevators and are specially designed for coarse, highly abrasive bulk materials. HD bucket elevators can transport piece sizes up to 120 mm.

By using a specifically designed BEUMER Group steel wire belt, HD bucket elevators enable maximum conveying heights and conveying capacities. They are particularly suitable as recirculation units behind high-pressure roller mills, which are increasingly used for pre-grinding in the cement and ore sector.

Furthermore, the special design of the HD bucket elevator enables the highest conveying capacities for coal and similar products. For this sector, the HD bucket elevators can also be offered in an explosion-proof version.

Chain bucket

The traditional chain bucket elevator is designed with a double-strand round steel link chain (marine chain). This type is mainly used as an efficient solution for coarse, highly abrasive materials in the low to medium capacity range. It is also suitable for conveying hot bulk material.

Special versions, as for example central discharge bucket elevators, can be designed according to customers' requirements.

Central chain bucket elevators have been developed from the traditional bucket elevators and enable high conveying capacities with large centre distances.

High-capacity chain bucket elevators with central chain are particularly suitable for the transport of hot, granular and abrasive bulk material. In the cement industry BEUMER central chain bucket elevators are used, among others, for the vertical transport of hot, abrasive clinker, silo feed and in clinker milling systems.

Their reliability and long service life mean economic benefits for our customers, resulting from the use of BEUMER Group technology.
