BHIS offers children a mix of activities around the year to develop the various aspects of a child’s personality and physical well-being. Students have the opportunity to explore a range of activities offered under the umbrella of Sports and Performing Arts (SPA). In addition to that, our expert faculty of sports and performing arts identifies every child’s aptitude and assigns them a club activity, which hones their skills while keeping them motivated.

Research shows that the brain actually lights up after a short episode of movement, and neural pathways become more speedy and efficient. Our learning centres allow movement and in-depth understanding of concepts through all modalities of learning. The safe, secure and stimulus – rich environment is responsive to the child’s learning needs.

Brain research states that the ‘wiring’ in a child’s brain is positively affected by nurturing relationships and enriching environments. Our learning environment includes the set-up of various interest areas which encourage independence and autonomy where children learn how to get along with others, express individual thoughts, solve problems, and most importantly develop empathy towards others.

Developing sensitivity towards the environment and its protection and appreciating the cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity that marks our world are some of the major goals and core needs of Education today. Inculcating essential human values and developing core life skills among children right from early classes through a curriculum designed suitably within and across subjects is by far the best methodology schools can adopt to achieve this goal. Although the CISCE has since the last year, reworked its curriculum to mandate this integration and inter-disciplinary approach of subjects to make the learning experience more meaningful, long-lasting and engaging for the child, Billabong’s curriculum has been preparing children in just this manner right from its inception.

Community Services is an initiative that projects a very clear message to the world: Your desire to be a part of something bigger is not a reflection of where you come from, its rooted in your soul, that lives to value the existence of creatures- be it animate or inanimate ones, andthat every student should grow up to be a compassionate human being.

The students of Billabong High have time and again visited many orphanages, one of them being, 'Ummeed'. Weekly activities were planned by the student leaders and implemented by everyone.Our trips to 'Aasra', the old age home, provided us with the platform to bring two generations together; getting a peek inside their lives and sharing a part of ours with theirs.

Throughout the years, we have had entire groups dedicated to helping the forests and planting trees. Spreading awareness against deforestation and ozone depletion,and many other eco-friendly measures are taken at every step.
