ITINERARY

Day 01| Jammu | Katra

Arrive Jammu airport or railway station. Upon arrival you will be met by our representative and drive to Katra. The distance is about 50 kms, will be covered in about 2 hours, upon arrival in Katra you will be transferred to the hotel. Katra is the starting point for the Vaishno Devi pilgrimage. Overnight in hotel.

Day 02| Katra | Vaishnodevi | Katra

Early in the morning we proceed further to visit the Holy temple of Vaishno Devi. This temple is situated on the top of the hill. To visit this temple one has to hire pony or travel by foot. From Katra the Vaishno Devi pilgrimage is about 12 kms. After visiting the temple we return back to Katra the same day. Overnight in hotel.

Day 03 | Katra | Dalhousie & Local Sightseeing

Early morning after breakfast, check out from the hotel & proceed for Dalhousie, a famous Hill Resort in Himachal Pradesh (220 Kms from Katra) which spreads over five low-level hills at the western edge of the Dhauladhar range, just east of the Ravi River. This place is situated at 6000-9000 feet above sea level. Check into the hotel. Local sightseeing at Dalhousie like Jandhrighat Palace, Subhash Bowli, Bara Pathar, Panjphulla, Subhash Chownk, GPO Dalhousie, Satdhara and the last but not least old Churches of Dalhousie. Overnight stay at Dalhousie

Day 4: Khajjiar

After breakfast, proceed for Khajjiar which is a vast emerald green meadow with thick forested slopes of deodars. This place is also known as Gulmarg of Himachel Pradesh & mini Switzerland of India. It is 23 Kms from Dalhousie by road and 13 Kms from Kalatop. Khajjiar is a forest glade of great beauty, 6400 feet above sea level.You may enjoy paragliding here during peak tourist season. Back to Dalhousie in the evening. Overnight stay at Dalhousie

Day 5: Departure

After breakfast, visit local market of Dalhousie. In the afternoon, check out from the hotel & proceed for Pathankot/Chakki Bank to drop at Railway Station for return journey. In case of departure from Jammu, proceed for Jammu in the early morning and drop at Railway Station/Airport Drop

Day 01: Arrive Chandigarh & Drive to Manali – 325 Kms / 8 hours Drive

Day 02: Drive Manali Rohtang Pass Koksar Keylong

Depart Manali early in the morning our first halt is Marhi A barren landscape offering extensive views of the valley and the mountains. We proceed to Rohtang Pass 3790 M is most popular with visitors, being one of the highest road point and gateway to LAHAUL and SPITI valleys. Pass remains closed during winter due to heavy snow from November end to May end. Visitors can drive upto MARHI below ROHTANG with similar high altitude topography, forest of Birch, Fir and Spurce. Once we cross the Rohtang Pass border we are in the Barren Himalayas with the landscape completely changing Khoksar is the first village and gate way to Lahaul Night stay in Keylong. Day 03: Drive Keylong – Darcha – Sarchu- Leh

Get prepared for the most interesting overland high altitude drive up to Leh. May take approx 10 hours. You will arrive at Darcha ( 3500 Meter) is situated at the junction of Yotche Nullah and the Zangskar chhu which takes off from the Shinkun la. Both these nullahs meet with the main river Bhaga at this place. This is the main point for the trek lovers wish to enter in Zanskar valley or up to Leh.
Your drive from this place will take to BaraLacha Pass ( 1620 Ft) and further drive to Sarchu which is nearly the mid point of Manali Leh route. Continue drive to Pang and cross morai plains and arrive at Tanglangla Pass (5400 M) and enter in Leh Valley. Your further drive will take you to Upsi by crossing river Indus and follow the highway up to Leh. Check in at your hotel and overnight stay

Day 04: IN Leh ( Excursion of Khardugla Pass – Leh City)

Morning excursion to Khardong-La (80 kms round trip / alt: 18,380 ft.), highest motorable pass in the world and recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records . Offers an incredible view of Leh valley and Stok kangri group of Peaks ( 6150 M) at the back drop of Leh valley. Differs Leh Valley and Nubra Valley which used to be the Silk Route to Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Drive back to Leh town and you have time to explore Leh palace / Namgyal palace / Shanti Stupa / Shankar Gompa and Leh market.

Day1 Arrive Manali and City Tour

The mountain bikes will be settled up, and now you can go on a first reconnaissance-trip: A forest hides a temple called Hadimba Devi, made out of wood with remarkable carving. Later you drive steeply up to “Old Manali”, a picturesque village close to the ruins of the Fortress Mandakot. Along the Beas River you will find the hot sources of Vashist. Overnight in the Hotel.

 Day 2 Manali to Rohalla (5 hrs)

You are biking on the highest road of the world. This trip through the “alpine” forest to the Rothang La serves for your acclimatization. After the last village, called Kothi, many serpentines bring you to the Rohalla Falls and after a big turn into a small valley you reach the camp where you stay overnight (3000m). Now the cook spoils you with his arts. However, it could be raining there, because in this height the weather changes. Overnight in the Camp.

 Day 3 Rohalla to Tandi (75 kms / 5hrs)

In many serpentines and over green pastures, it goes to the Rothang La, 4060m. There you can enjoy the view over the glacier summits of Spiti, and the mountains of Ladakh. It’s fantastic! Now you enjoy the downhill of about 1000 height-meters to the village of Khoksar. There is the first check post, but you need not a permit. You are now in Lahaul-Valley. In softly up and down, you reach Tandi, the campsite at the place, where the rivers Chandra and Bhaga comes together. (2800m). Overnight in the Camp.

 Day 4 Tandi to Jispa (6 hrs)

You start early morning into the canyon and come to Keylong, the capital city of Lahaul-Valley. Prayer flags and Mani walls clarify for you that you are in a Tibetan- Buddhist culture-area. Four monasteries surrounding in the former capital of Lahaul invite you for sightseeing. The monastery of Kardung shines at the opposite hillside in the sun. After a powerful uphill in the afternoon you reach at the camp Jispa (3200m). Overnight in Camp.

 Day 5 Jispa to Patseo (32 km / 3 hrs)

Now the wood border is behind you, passing Darcha (3235m), in a big river-landscape, you reach Patseo (3650m) on a comfortable half-stage. You start your trip intentionally quietly, in because of the adaptation of height. There you get a lot of fresh tea, because much drinking is very important during the acclimatization.
