Introduction:

The role of Acidic Ramming Mass in steel melting through induction Furnance is very important. Due to its important property to with stand thermal shocks without developing any cracks due to interrupted power supply which is the case throughout our conutry We have taken initiative to develop acidic ramming mass of high quality silica quartz having heavy density.

Product:

Our ramming mass is a product of super snow white crystalline quartz havmg 99.90% Silicon dioxide (sio₂ ) and manufactured under strict quality control and calcined to eliminate the spal1ing tendancy in stabilized form, where silica neither exponds nor contracts It is suitable for with standing higher temperature upto l720^oc

Important Features:

• For the first new lining the requirement of Acidic Ramming Mass is almost 50% of the Furnace capacity in weight.
• Remove iron or steel contents by powerful megnet.
• It is required to be preheated to 70'-80'C. So as to eliminate moisture during summer months In winter season or rai ny season. the mass should be preheated at a temperature of 140^o - 150^o C. then after cooling it down to 50^o - 60^oC mix thoroughly 0.8 to 1.5 percent boric acid according to the size of the crucible.
• Usually 12% of boric acid of medical grade is used for furnaces up to 3 tonnes capacity
• Store the Ramming mass in dry and dust free area.

SODIUM FELDSPAR (NA-SPAR)

In ceramic bodies, the main vitrifying (fluxing) agent is feldspar. The majority of white ware bodies contain good proportions of feldspar. It acts as a flux. In the ceramic industry, the flux is defined as that portion of the body which develops glass phase. This is provided mostly by feldspar. The amount of flux in a ceramic body should be only in such a proportion as to develop the desired amount of vitrification. If excess of flux is added, the fired body becomes very glassy and consequently, brittle.

The glass and ceramic industries are the major consumers of feldspar and account for 95% of the total consumption.

Feldspar is generally used for three purposes
In making the body composition of several types of procelain, china and earthenware and also in the preparation of glazes and enamel.
As an important ingredient in the glass sand batch.
As a bonding agent in the manufacture of bonded abrasives like wheels and discs of garnet, corundum, emery etc

SiO₂

Quartz is the most abundant and most common mineral on the Earth. It is found in almost every geological environment and also it is at least a component of almost every rock type. It has a hexagonal crystal structure and is made of trigonal crystallized silica. It is most varied in terms of varieties, colors and forms.

The most important distinction between the types of quartz is that one is of macrocrystalline, which is individual crystal visible to the unaided eye, and the other is microcrystalline or cryptocrystalline varieties, aggregates of crysstals visible only under high magnification. Chalcedony is the generic term for cryptocrystalline quartz. The transparent variety tends to be macrocrystalline and the cryptocrystalline varieties are either translucent or mostly opaque.
