Dr. Fog Original Anti-Fog

• DF-3100, the original anti-fog solution, comes with our easy squeeze bottle and sponge kit. We also offer the
• DF-3120 Ready-To-Use Sponge which is dry to touch. The sponge is alcohol-free. Both configurations are sterile and latex-free.

A sterile, self-contained, disposable apparatus used for heating and applying solution to the distal end of sinus endoscopes as well as an endoscopic lens protector. The heating mechanism is chemical, electrical or a combination of both. Further the apparatus serves as a self sealing container for the storage and application of anti-fog solution. By placing the apparatus over the distal scope prior to surgery, the scope is protected from damage from other instruments or trays. At the same time the distal lens is submerged in the warm antifog solution and it is uniformly and completely coated. Heat is transferred to the instrument from the solution in one example to act as an important and additional measure to prevent fogging of the lens. By heating the solution and the instrument, the drastic temperature difference between the interior of the body (98.6) and the instrument is eliminated. This inhibits the condensation of moisture, which always occurs upon inserting the cool scope inside the warm body. The apparatus combines the use of an anti-fog solution as well, which helps prevent fogging during the procedure when smoke and heat is generated within the body during the procedure. Lastly, the apparatus is designed to be used as a holder of the scope while protecting it from impact with a shock absorbent outer shell prior to, during, and after the medical procedure. A new method for defogging endoscopes by which a sterile protective device is combined with a defogging mechanism and placed over the distal lens of endoscopes prior to the medical procedure, used intermittently during the procedure, then placed over the lens at the end of the procedure. The apparatus is not removed until scope reaches the cleaning facility. This apparatus is ideal for sterile operations where the instrument is used intermittently and repeatedly.

A treatment program is chosen according to the medical condition of the patient. A typical patient will gain from 1-4 mm of jaw opening ability in the first session; however, this gain is likely to be lost within the next few hours. Only by continuing to stretch and mobilize the jaw for several sessions per day can any lasting benefit be achieved. Increased pain during the exercises should be avoided, as it can result in muscle guarding that may impair the effectiveness of the therapy and reduce compliance.

7-7-7 for patients with limited jaw mobility. A commonly used treatment program for persons with limited jaw mobility is “7-7-7”; 7 stretches performed 7 times per day, each stretch held for 7 seconds. Although repetition is central, this program takes no more than 10 minutes per day. Slowly close the mouth and pause. Squeeze the lever to the point of resistance and hold. Place mouthpieces comfortably between teeth.

5-5-30 for trismus patients An example of a treatment program, suitable for trismus patients, features longer stretches in a sequence of “5-5-30”. 5 stretches performed 5 times per day or more, each stretch held for 30 seconds. Regular monitoring, review, and evaluation by a properly trained clinician is essential for all treatment programs. ACOUSTIC PHARYNGOMETER

The Eccovision® Acoustic Pharyngometer allows users to quickly and easily measure a patients pharyngeal airway size and stability from the Oral Pharyngeal Junction to the Glottis.
The Pharyngometer graphically displays the relationship between the cross-sectional area of the airway and distance down the airway in centimeters.

Studies have shown a clear relationship between the existence of OSA and a narrow, collapsible, airway.  The Pharyngometer accomplishes these measurements using acoustic reflection technology, similar to a ships sonar.

Sound waves are projected down the airway and reflected back out in such a way that the Pharyngometer software can analyze and quantify changes in the airways cross-sectional area. The test is minimally invasive and takes 2-5 minutes to complete.

Sleep Disorders Dentists use the Pharyngometer to screen patients prior to diagnosis. 01 — What is BPPV?

The most common cause of dizziness related to the ear is Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV). BPPV is caused by normal inner ear crystals (otoconia) that become dislodged and collect in one of the balance canals. When a person moves their head in certain ways this collection of crystals causes abnormal fluid waves in the inner ear. The brain interprets this as spinning or vertigo.

02 — What is the DizzyFIX?

The DizzyFIX is a wearable guidance tool for the Particle Repositioning Maneuver. It consists of a specially shaped fluid-filled tube, mounted onto a hat, which contains a brightly colored particle. The tube, fluid and particle are designed to simulate the otoconia (crystals) found in the inner ear and the object is to move the DizzyFIX particle from one end of the tube to the other. It works for both right side and left side BPPV.

03 — The DizzyFIX for home use

The DizzyFIX guides individuals with BPPV through a series of special head and body positions that ultimately guide loose, vertigo causing particles out of the inner ear and into non-reactive areas.  This is called the particle repositioning maneuver or the Epley Maneuver and the DizzyFIX works like a visual set of instructions for the maneuver.

In order to successfully move the DizzyFIX particle through the device from one end to the other, a correct Epley Maneuver must be performed.
