The 18-hour evening course, spread over 6 weekdays (each session is of 3 hours), helps you to be a more effective communicator and, going by past experience, could be a life changing experience for most of you.

Curriculum

•     Finding the ‘connect’ between your thoughts and your words
•     Saying things simply but effectively
•     Building audience contact
•     Voice modulation
•     Speaking with your whole self – gestures, facial expressions
•     Effective use of the microphone
•     More intricate skills – use of the pause, a dramatic beginning, how to win an audience over

Content is as important as communication – helping you to collect your thoughts before you speak; speaking from the head and the heart

Pedagogy

Sessions by Mr. Barry O’Brien on how to be an effective speaker include his mantras and formulae for mastering this special art. He will provide you with several practical demonstrations, practice sessions and ‘time on the microphone’ in front of an audience. The environment he creates is always warm and friendly, and everyone is comfortable and relaxed. No one feels awkward and there is no fear of failure – that’s because of Barry Sir’s unique methodology of teaching: ‘Let’s enjoy each other’s company; be there for each other; and finally, enjoy each other’s successes.’

Eligibility

Any adult is eligible - the only condition being that the person should be comfortable while conversing in English or the language he or she wishes to address an audience in. A majority of those who have been enriched by this course over the last five years are working professionals, entrepreneur, industrialists, sales & marketing executives, chartered accountants, doctors, college students, social workers, housewives, and members of social service clubs.
