Plastic compositions are finely pulverized to powder form which is dispersed in an air stream and each particle is electrically charged. The charged particles are then directed to the part which is electrically grounded. The part with the powder layer is subsequently heated to specified temperature to convert the layer to form a smooth uniform coating.
Properties of powder coating:
Powder coating is generally harder and offers better resistance to corrosion, impact, abrasion and chemicals. Rapid color change allows for flexibility in the coating operation. Solvent emissions are virtually eliminated.
Present feature:
Polyester, Epoxy, Hybrid powder used for powder coating over CED painted components.
Compliance to customer’s requirement of scrap vehicle directive:
Lead: Absent, Chromium 6+: Absent, Cadmium: Absent, Mercury: Absent

GEOMET is a proprietary, water-based, coating dispersion containing metal oxides, metallic zinc and aluminum flakes. The zinc and aluminum platelets align in multiple layers forming a metallic silver-gray coating. Applied as a liquid, the coating becomes totally inorganic after curing.
Properties:
- Good corrosion resistance at lesser thickness of coating ( 3 to 10 µ)
- Bimetallic corrosion resistance
- Hydrogen embrittlement free
- Heat resistance
- Solvent resistance
- Electrically conductive
Colour: Silver-gray
Compliance to customer’s requirements of scrap vehicle directive:
Chromium 6+ free coating
Others: Geomet coating is given as such and also with top coat to meet customer’s requirements.
