Cardio Products Corporation was established in 1978. Since then, we have set up offices in Mumbai, Lucknow, Hyderabad and Chennai apart from our Head office in New Delhi. From our 5 Direct Offices and distributor network we have direct sales representation in each state of the Union of India.
When Mr. Singh (CEO) started the Company in 1978, the only product we were selling was Medtronic Pacemakers and hence the origin of the name Cardio Products Corporation. Being a one-man show at that time, he could only concentrate on what he had in hand, Pacemakers, which are for Cardiologists. The only natural progression was into Cardiac Surgery as both Cardiologists and Cardiac surgeons are constantly discussing their patients towards a combined therapy. Still the name was relevant.
However Cook Inc., who manufacture Cardiac Catheters apart from General Surgery, Urology, Gastroenterology and Radio-diagnosis catheters heard about us and Mr. Gunnar Staffe from Cook Denmark visited our office ( then in a garage) and after visiting customers was impressed with our relationship and knowledge of the market appointed us as their agents India-wide. Hence we advanced into General Surgery, ENT,Radiology, Urology, Gastroenterology and even IVF. Our penchant to introduce new products into the Indian Medical scene spurred us into different fields. Since we were well established by 1990, the name stuck and we are known by the Company we keep.
In recent years, another Company Neurologica who make a portable CT Scanner for Head and Neck studies, tied up with us to introduce their product in India and we sold 6 systems in 2 years. This was a new field and the customers are Neurosurgeons – before this we had no product for Neurosurgeons. Similarly, we introduced tilting MRI of Esaote Italy into India and sold 4 systems in 2 years. Of course our contacts with Radiologists (courtesy Cook Radiology products) helped.+ Read More
