We have 3 modes of booking:

o         Paid: Where the consignor pays at the time of booking the consignment. The consignee doesn’t have to pay at the time of delivery.

o         Topay: Where the consignor books the consignment without paying anything. The consignee would have to pay the freight charges at the time of delivery.

o        Billing: This mode is given only to regular customers, where a bill containing the details of all the bookings made in a month is sent to them at the end of that particular month. Usually the credit period allowed is about 7 days from the date of submission of the bill.

There are 2 types of delivery. The type of delivery can be chosen at the time of booking the consignment. This can also be later on changed at the destination office, based on the consignee’s convenience.

o         Door Delivery: Where the consignment is delivered at the door step of the consignee. A nominal charge is collected for this service, as the rate is not included in the basic freight.

o         Office Delivery: Where the consignee comes to our nearest office and collects the consignment himself. No fee is collected if the consignee picks it up within 7 days from the date of arrival at the destination office. But after that, a nominal demurrage charge would be collected.

Tapes:

o        Make use of good quality tapes to secure the boxes. Also ensure that the tape is adhered to the box properly.

●          Strapping:

o        Make use of strapping if required as it is a very good way to secure the box.

●          Fragile Items:

o        For items such as bottles, glass cups, etc, choose a package box with suitable internal cardboard partitioning. This helps to prevent damage to the glass items as all the stress would be absorbed by the internal partitioning material when other items are placed over it. Proper internal cushioning is also advised.

●          Liquids:

o        Always ensure that liquids, oils and other greasy substances are stored in leak proof containers, and a suitable box with proper internal partitioning is used. Also keep enough absorbent inside the box to absorb the liquids if there is any leakage. This is very important as the surrounding items might get damaged.Wooden Containers:

o         Use wooden containers to ship heavy items. But always ensure that there are no sharp edges and that the box is well secured.

●          Tins:

o         Make use of tins for strong smelling liquids or fluids, and ensure that the tins are properly sealed.

●          Arrow Marks:

o         Always draw the ‘up arrow’ sign on the box to ensure that the box isn’t loaded in the wrong position.
