125 years of service and quality began in 1889. A small payment "duccan", A small business - but with big ideals. Our founder Karim Bhai, from Kutch in Gujrat, set up shop at Evening Bazaar in George Town (in the century before the last). In those days, he dealt mostly with lamps and chimneys - the need of those times. Over the years, the shop has grown to accommodate the needs of home makers, hotels, serviced apartments, restaurants, .... we cater to every type of institution in the catering industry, with a "narrow focus" on Table and Kitchenware. In the years gone by, we were a family that started trading in "lanterns and chimneys"; a "duccan" (under a tree went) subsequently went on to pioneer the imports of Crockery and Enamelware (by the ship loads) from Europe. The business grew as the years progressed and five generation of Currimbhoys still hold "value" sacred and central to the theme of our business. In this generation too, our commitment to quality and price remain in the forefront of our endeavor to choose and sell only those brands that "offer best value for our customer's money".
