About The Company
One of the first developments from Dataflow included Devanagari word processor on an Apple II in 1984, which was later transferred to a PC clone to become a full-fledged DTP application. Back then, Macs were the only alternative to big typesetting equipment. Entry of cheaper machines opened up this technology to a wide variety of printing houses.
Thus, Devyani, the first DTP package for Indian languages in late 1986 started off the development of softwares for other Indian languages and their fonts. Several Newspaper and Magazine installations followed and the mushrooming DTP bureaus quickly standardised on Dataflow's software products.
Among the most prominent customers, the Times of India group was the first large group to embrace Devyani DTP. It is used both by The Maharashtra Times and by The Navbharat Times. The Indian Express, Sakal and the Tarun Bharat group were also among the early followers. Newspapers from Lucknow, Delhi, Aurangabad, Goa and other faraway places started using Devyani. Today, in the city of Mumbai alone, more than 22 newspapers use Dataflow's software.
During the years, various systems & commercial softwares have been delivered catering to a wide variety of customers. These include the softwares for the DTP industry in general and the Newspapers in particular, the software development segment, the mechanical industry, etc. Recently, the shift has been to also include the Web based and the Linux based development using the standardised protocols.
