Jaipur Golden Hospital, Rohini Sector-3, Delhi
Dr. S.K. Gupta is a renowned Senior Interventional Consultant Cardiologist with 23 Yrs of experience of cardiology and is equally very good Clinical Cardiologist & Non-Invasive Cardiologist in North-West Delhi, having Dr. S. K. Gupta’s “DELHI HEART CLINIC” at the prime location of Madhuban Chowk near two Metro Stations (Pitampura Metro Station & Rohini East Metro Station) on Rithala-Dilshad Garden Metro line. He has done his MBBS from Govt. Medical College, Rohtak and MD-Medicine from SMS Medical College, Jaipur. He was the topper of the DM-Entrance test at Sanjay Gandhi PGI, Lucknow.
His mission is “SAVE HEART, SAVE LIFE” with high quality services with a human touch. He is dedicated to provide comprehensive treatment to his patient with compassion. He strongly believes in the most ethical & cost effective treatment.
Dr. S.K. Gupta says heart attack (Myocardial Infarction) is one of the leading causes of death worldwide. Most of these deaths take place because proper first-aid or medical attention is not given. Moreover, 50% people who die of heart attacks do not have any preceding symptoms. By early diagnosis and proper treatment, most of these patients can be saved.
First of all, one should know when to suspect heart attack. It should be considered if a person starts having pain or heaviness in the chest or shoulder or arm on left side or right side or both sides or neck, lower jaw or retro sternal / epigastric region / back. It may or may not be associated with ghabrahat, sweating, weakness or shortness of breath. Very commonly heart attack may present with symptoms of acidity in the form of nausea, vomiting or pain abdomen. Some patients (esp. Diabetics) are known to have silent (painless) heart attack.
Mostly people delay treatment as they think these symptoms are not due to heart attack or they think that they can never have heart attack or they do not want to cause inconvenience to the family members at add hours or due to financial constraints. Once heart attack is suspected, patient or family members should know what to do. Patient should be made relaxed by giving some anxiolytic medicine (alprozolam or clonazepam) along with one to two Disprin tablets as first-aid. Even 300-600 mg of clopidogrel can be given if symptoms are highly suggestive of heart attack. If the patient is having shortness of breath more so in lying down posture or having severe pain, 5 mg Sorbitrate / Isordil should be given under the tongue. Meanwhile an effort should be made to reach a nearby hospital equipped with coronary angiography and angioplasty facilities for admission under an
Interventional Cardiologist.
