INTRODUCTION TO DMLT COURSE

Medical laboratory technician helps the doctor to confirm their diagnosis. Medical Lab Technicians carry out various tests on blood, urine, stool, CSF, sputum etc.

Doctors diagnose patients on the basis of symptoms & lab technician confirm their diagnosis & find root cause of the disease by carrying out various Biochemical, Hematological, Microbiology or Histo-Pathological tests.

Candidates with D.M.L.T. qualification are expected to work as technicians in laboratories attached to hospitals under supervision of senior officers. They may be employed in a small laboratory functioning independently or attached to a doctor’s clinic.

Nature of their job dictates that candidate should give more emphasis on learning of practical skills & behavioural skills along with a basic knowledge of the subject.

Diploma in medical laboratory technology the whole course is of one year duration. The whole syllabus is divided in to four parts Hematological, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Histopathology. During the one year academic training students are given demonstration on various subjects & are given practical exposure in well equipped laboratories with specimens procured from hospitals, so students can identify normal & abnormal specimens
