Description:
Long-Acting G-CSF
Pegfilgrastim is a long-acting form of filgrastim, used to stimulate white blood cell (neutrophil) production and reduce the risk of infection during chemotherapy.
Single-Dose Per Cycle
Unlike daily filgrastim, pegfilgrastim is given as a single subcutaneous injection per chemotherapy cycle, usually 24 hours after chemotherapy ends.
Prevents Febrile Neutropenia
Commonly used in patients receiving myelosuppressive chemotherapy, it significantly reduces the incidence of febrile neutropenia (fever + low neutrophils).
Self-Regulating Clearance
The drug is cleared from the body based on neutrophil levels, offering a convenient, sustained effect without requiring dose adjustments in most patients.
