Viraday Tablet is a combination of three antiviral medicines: Emtricitabine, Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate and Efavirenz. They work by preventing HIV (virus) from multiplying, thereby reducing the amount of virus in your body.
Emtricitabine is used in combination with other medicines to treat human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection in adults, children, and infants aged above 4 months.
Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate is used in the treatment of chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection.
Efavirenz is used in combination with other medications for the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection.
Caution should be exercised in patients with history of kidney problems, lactic acidosis, liver problems including hepatitis B or C infections, osteoporosis, irregular heartbeat (QT prolongation), mental illness, suicidal thoughts, irregular heartbeat, any allergy, who are taking other medications, children, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
It may cause dizziness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication.
It does not stop spread of HIV infection to others; avoid contact, sharing of needles, injection supplies, or items like toothbrushes or razors during treatment period.
Patient may develop with increased risk of suicidal thoughts; watch them carefully.
