Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate Tablets IP is an antiviral reverse transcriptase inhibitor. It works to treat HIV infection by reducing the amount of HIV (the virus that causes AIDS) in the body by blocking the ability of the virus to multiply. Each film coated tablet of Tenvir contains 300 mg of Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate which is equivalent to 245 mg of Tenofovir disoproxil.

• Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate Tablets is used for Treating HIV infection in combination with other medicines. It is also used to treat chronic hepatitis B infection. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor. Tenvir is an antiviral reverse transcriptase inhibitor. Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate works to treat HIV infection by reducing the amount of HIV (the virus that causes AIDS) in the body by blocking the ability of the virus to multiply. Tenofovir works to treat HBV infection by reducing the amount of HBV in the body by blocking the ability of the virus to multiply and infect new liver cells. Tenvir is not a cure for HIV or AIDS.

• Do not suddenly stop taking Tenvir Tablets without checking with your doctor. This may cause the
  virus to become less sensitive to this or other medicines. Also, some conditions (eg, hepatitis B) could become worse if you suddenly stop taking Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate Tablets (Tenvir) .
• If you miss a dose of Tenvir , take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once. Ask your health care provider any questions you may have about how to use Tenvir .

Storage Instructions for Tenvir Tablets
Store Tenvir Tablets at 77 degrees F (25 degrees C). Brief storage at temperatures between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) is permitted. Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Do not use Tenvir if the seal over the bottle opening is broken or missing. Keep Tenvir in its original container and keep the container tightly closed. Do not keep medicine that is out of date or that you no longer need. If you throw any medicines away, make sure that children or pets cannot find them. Keep Tenvir out of the reach of children and away from pets.

Efavirenz Tablet  provides highly effective control and treatment of HIV-1 (human immunodeficiency virus) infections. However, it is only used with other anti-retroviral drugs and not on its own. This is because monotherapy with this medicine allows the virus to become rapidly resistant to it, which can make treatment difficult. It is classified as a non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor, and its pharmacological action involves diffusing in the cells and attaching to the HIV enzyme responsible for the recreation of viral DNA (reverse transcriptase).
