Half a century ago, two young Engineers forged ahead to lay the foundation for manufacturing high quality cranes and material handling equipment. This led to the evolution of FAFECO.
The two engineers were none other than Mr. M. S. Gurnani, a post graduate in Mechanical Engg. from Indian Institute of Science Banglore & a Member - Advisory Board of IS 3177- 1965 for Cranes and Mr M. K. Ramchandani also a brilliant Engineering Graduate. For four decades the two have continued to pioneer the industry with keen interest, surcharged vigour and utmost devotion. Mr. Ramchandani, with his vast and in-depth knowledge of cranes, has not only been a well known consultant to the crane mfg. industry but has also attended and many a time chaired seminars at prestigious establishments like Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) etc.
FAFECO's humble start of 1962 was given further impetus when the second generation led by Mr. Shyam Gurnani, a Mechanical Engineer specialising in Design, has added pace to the growth by quickly absorbing the vast wealth of knowledge acquired by the seniors apart from playing a major role in computerization of designs. It is now a matter of pride that he is now a member of ME14 the Indian Standard Comittee for Material Handling & also represents India on ISO TC 96 Comittees internationally.+ Read More
