About Us

Welcome to Gate Institute of Technology And Management Sciences Located at Tirupati. GATE College was founded by Mr T. Venkateswarulu, with the primary objective of providing University Education for deserving Students. The College aims at training young men and women of quality to be leaders in all walks of life, whom we hope will play a vital role in bringing about the desired changes for the betterment of the people of our country, more particularly of the dalits and other poorer and marginalized sections of society. The College trains young men and women to serve their fellowmen in justice, truth and love. It fosters an atmosphere of intellectual vigor and moral rectitude in which the youth of our country may find their fulfillment and achieve greatness as eminent men and women of service. The College, however, continues to be affiliated to the Sri venkateswara University and is autonomous, in the sense that it is free to frame its own course of studies and adopt innovative methods of teaching and evaluation. The University degrees will be conferred on the students passing the examinations conducted by the college. The Department has entered into an Mou with IBM, Infosys and U.S. Technologies for software training and Faculty Development Programmes besides R and D activities.

The students of the Department have brought out quite number of innovative projects such as GPS in Traffic Management, Smart Cards, etc. The software team of the Department has made laudable contribution by developing software for campus management, attendance help line and on-line test. Our college has a dedicated internet lab working 24 hours a day 7 days a week. We give free internet access to our students. We have a 512 kbps .The internet can be accessed from more than 100 computers. All the departments and the HOD's have internet connectivity. The campus intranet has important details about Test Schedules, Time Tables, Examination Schedules, Campus News etc., and a wealth of information about the college.

Hostel

We have separate hostel for boys and girls. The hostel can accommodate 200 boys and 100 girls.They are also permitted to use their own computers in their own rooms. The mess is spacious with a dining hall and kitchen. Separate seating arrangements are made for both boys and girls.

Students must occupy the rooms allotted to them by the Warden (Principal).

Students should refrain from anti-social and undesirable activities such as consumption of alcohol, tobacco, gambling, ragging etc.

Students are responsible for the cleanliness of their rooms.

No student will be allowed to leave the hostel based on a phone call.

Parents are requested to give a list of authorized visitors/local guardians. Visitors not mentioned in the list will not be permitted to visit the students in the hostel.

Students will be permitted to go home only if the college is closed continuously for five days or more.

Any student wishing to attend a function in the house, marriage or any other ceremony will be permitted to go only if the request is made by the parents to the Principal.

Visitors are allowed on holidays from 11.00 A.M. to 6.00 P.M.
