PP Secondary Backing is coated along with latex at the back of the tufted cloth to get the finished carpet. It gives grip and dimensional stability to the carpet.

Although, new trends have brought in Secondary Backings with synthetic CF yarn; the conventional PP Secondary backing with Dref yarn made from PP tape and PP staple fibres is still the hot favorite. It gives good absorption of latex and better adhesion.

We have developed a special Dref Yarn in-house to give a very good Secondary Backing.

This is new type of PP Secondary Backing more prevalent now.

The warp is the conventional PP Tape and the weft is PP CF Yarn.

The construction remains the same leno weave giving a good dimensional stability to the carpet.

PP Primary Backing cloth is woven on wide width Sulzer looms and used extensively for Tufted Carpet production.

They are available in different qualities or GSM and different construction of warp and weft to enable production of lighter, medium or dense carpet production. If you need to produce Dense carpets, putting more stitches on the tufting machine, you need to go for denser or higher gsm primary backing cloth. The most common quality is 112 * 63 with about 95 gsm.

Felt backing is now being increasingly used at the back of both printed tufted carpets and graphic pp carpets.

It gives weight and substance to lower pile weight carpets and gives them a fuller look.

The felt backing also acts as an underlay and increases the life span of the cheap carpets.

They are available in various colors like sky blue, light green, light beige and white.

Most commonly, the 150 gsm felt backing is used for printed tufted carpets.
