Key to the implementation of the Bhamashah Scheme, is a central electronically operated infrastructure, which is expected to provide about 12000-15000 Points of Service (PoS), spread over the state, to provide banking service & health insurance services to the targeted population. The centralized electronic architecture, the backbone, will enable centralized monitoring and provision of all the required information and data to the state government, and also to the respective stakeholders

The Government of Rajasthan has embarked upon Bhamashah Financial Empowerment Scheme, (BFES) whereby the Government will deposit Rs.1500/- into the savings accounts of 50 lakhs rural families belonging to Below Poverty Line (BPL), Small & Marginal Farmers and identified SC/ST families. It has also been decided to take up Government of India, Ministry of Labor – Rural Health Insurance Scheme with coverage of Rs.30,000/- per family with compensation for loss of wages, stay and transportation charge for all BPL families in rural areas and the routing of payments under Pannadhay scheme, in the first stage

Some Key Features of the Scheme:

Bring all BPL, Small and Marginal Farmers and identified families of SC/ST in rural areas of Rajasthan to the banking fold, by providing them banking access within 3-5 km. of their residence. The bank accounts to be opened in the name of the women of these families and will be operated by bio-metric identification.

As an incentive for opening the bank account in the name of the women of the family, credit Rs.1500/- per family in all these accounts to enable them spend this money on their welfare and consumption, in a manner thought best by them. This is with a view to empower them to take their economic and financial decisions themselves

Are you Aware of your LPG Insurance Policy? - Power to Consumer

As per the above media reports, LPG Consumers can claim insurance coverage of up to Rs 40 Lakh, in case of any accidents. This is partly true. LPG accident victims are covered for death and accident, but the insurance coverage is not Rs 40 Lakh, as reported. Also, the oil marketing companies do not take any special insurance policy or coverage for individual LPG consumers.

Both, the LPG companies (oil companies) and the LPG Distributors (Gas agencies) take Third Party Liability Insurance. No premium is collected from the LPG customer. The LPG accident victims can claim insurance from the company and also from his/her local Gas Agency (distributor).

This third party liability policy (public liability policy) provides personal accident cover, reimburses medical expenses and covers property damage at authorized customer’s registered premises. The sum assured given to the accident victims is based on per event (accident) and per person (victim).

I did a little bit of research and found the copy of ‘Public Liability Policy’ taken by Indian Oil (Indane Gas), Bharat Petroleum (Bharat Gas) and Hindustan Petroleum (HP Gas) companies. These companies have taken the insurance policy from United Insurance Company Ltd.,

Gas Guidelines

Domestic and commercial LPG consumers will now have to go through a mandatory spot biennial inspection of connections by many Oil Corporations . The gas agencies, who have taken distributorship from the IOCL, BPCL, HPCL , will set out on a door-to-door safety mandatory inspection of all LPG/commercial connections in the State. LPG dealers in the city are strictly pursuing the home inspection policy with the intention of weeding out illegal gas connections. The inspection policy's basic purpose is to ascertain whether all safety measures are being implemented by a consumer while using LPG. The inspection staff member checks for signs of leakage and ascertains the condition of regulator and gas pipe.The inspection has been made mandatory by oil marketing and is to be conducted every two years. You need to pay a nominal charge for visit, which has to be borne by the consumer. Everyone should understand that this is being done for the safety of consumers.LPG mandatory check-up is very useful to consumer, in these check the mechanic check the all safety precaution and if u have any doubt on safety usage on gas we will explain u clearly and thy clear your doubt, and mainly each consumer has to give the declaration they are following the proper safety precaution and their is no chance for LPG accident, in these mandatory check it proofs that

Some points about LPG.

» LPG is Liquefied Petroleum Gas. Liquefied Petroleum Gases (LPG) are obtained by refining of crude oil and from natural gas by oil absorption or refrigerated absorption process.

» LP Gases are mixtures of hydrocarbons, which are gaseous at normal ambient temperature and atmospheric pressure, but can be liquefied at normal ambient temperature by application of moderate pressure.

» It is a clean burning, non-poisonous, dependable, high calorific value fuel. » LPG is stored and transported in containers as a liquid, but is generally drawn out and used as a gas.

» LPG in gaseous state is nearly twice as heavy as air. Any leakage of LPG, therefore, tends to settle down at floor level.

» Liquid LPG is almost half as heavy as water. Thus, when liquid LPG gets converted to a gaseous state, it expands by about 250 times. The leakage of liquid LPG is therefore very dangerous.

» LPG contains no toxic components such as carbon monoxide and is, therefore, non-poisonous.

» Fuel gases will burn only when mixed with air in certain proportions. The minimum and maximum concentrations of a fuel gas in a gas / air mixture between which the mixture can be ignited are termed as the over and upper limit of inflammability - The lower flammability limit for LPG is 2% and the higher limit is 8.5%.

» Pure LPG is colourless and odourless. LPG is distinctively odourised to give warning in case of leakage. Its smell is detectable in air at concentrations down to 1/5th of the lower explosive limit.
