EBT Filling Mass Compound

Grind-Chem's EBT Filler compound is high refractory Granular material, which is used in Electric Arc Furnace with Eccentric Bottom Tapping for free and easier opening of Tap hole. This does not sinter under steel making temperatures and hence remains highly flow able at high temperatures, thus gets out freely ensuring uniform stream of hot liquid. It also minimizes the impact of lancing or poking on tap hole refractory and hence increases tap hole refractory lining life. Benefits Ensures free opening of EBT tap hole in electric arc furnace. Synthetic Slag

There is an old saying in Steel making process - "Take care of Slag, Slag will take care of Steel". Improper composition of Slag is very detrimental for the quality of steel as it can lead to harmful reversion of P, S, and unwanted oxides. Our Synthetic Slag adjusts the Slag composition in such a way that it interacts with steel in a very balanced way thus maintaining proper equilibrium with the Steel. This helps in absorbing inclusions and impurities, and thus producing cleaner and better quality steel. Our Synthetic slag also adjusts the basicity of Slag, lowers the melting temperature of slag and increases its fluidity. This helps the slag to remove sulphur from the steel in form of sulphides, which moves easily towards more fluid slag. Hence it can also acts as desulphurising agent. The increased basicity and fluidity of slag also minimizes the erosion of refractory lining thus increasing the ladle life greatly. Ladle & Tundish Covering Compounds

Our covering compounds are highly insulating powder, which has very good expandability and spreadability, so that it expands and spreads instantly to cover entire molten steel surface in the ladle and tundish. Covering compound can be acidic, basic or neutral in nature depending on the refractory linings used, casting conditions and grades of the steel cast. These covering compounds being highly insulating in nature significantly reduces heat loss due to radiation from the top surface of liquid steel. Top & Bottom Ring Cleaning Compounds

Grind-Chem's Ladle cleaning compounds can be classified as a) Top Ring cleaning Compounds - These are insulating cover refractory material with good spreadability and expandability. This expands and spreads over the slag instantly so as to prevent heat loss due to radiation thus minimizes the temperature drop in the liquid steel and prevents earlier freezing of liquid steel at surface and hence cleans the top ring formations at the ladle surface. Benefits Prevents heat loss due to radiation, thus maintaining consistent temperature gradient across the liquid steel. Prevents top ring formation at the ladle surface thus facilitating better tapping and pouring. Does not reduce the holding capacity of the ladle. Prevents erosion of refractory lining thus increasing ladle life. Prevents exposure of liquid metal to atmosphere. b) Bottom Cleaning Compounds - These are reactive powder flux which are kept at the bottom of ladle which prevents the bottom skull formation in the ladle. On coming in contact with hot liquid, it reacts and keeps the liquid metal more fluid and hot thus prevents the freezing of hot liquid. It also aids in dissolving impurities and moving slag to the top more quickly. This does not reduce the holding capacity of the ladle and thus the same ladle can be used for increased number of heats. This should be used along with Top Ring cleaning compound in order to obtain maximum benefit.

Ingot Teeming Flux

Our Ingot Teeming Flux are free flowing powdered flux that is suspended inside the Ingot mould while casting of Ingots. These flux when comes into contact with the hot liquid forms slag which moves towards the surface of the ingots. This slag as it moves upward absorbs the inclusion and impurities from steel, thus producing cleaner and better quality steel .It also provides enough lubrication between Hot Steel and Ingot mould, thus ensuring better ingot surface. The powdered layer at top also provides insulating layer on the top surface of hot liquid, thus preventing atmospheric reaction with hot steel and temperature loss at ingot head.
