Handipack - Multi-Purpose Epoxy System
Get Latest Price
¬ Ideal for repairs and other small tasks
¬ Suitable for gluing, coating, laminating and filling
¬ Simple 2:1 by volume mix ratio
¬ Supplied with dispensing pumps
QUICK REPAIR SYSTEM
Handipack is a multi-purpose epoxy, supplied only in a small pack. It is designed for quick repair work and small scale construction jobs. The system is extremely reactive with a pot-life of just 8 minutes at 20°C. It is therefore best suited to small tasks, and should not be applied in thicknesses exceeding 3mm.
LAMINATING
The medium to low viscosity of the material enables it to be used for small laminating tasks, using lightweight glass fabrics, such as those from the reinforcements range. The system’s good clarity makes it a good sheathing matrix system.
COATING
Used as a coating, it cures rapidly at ambient temperatures to form a tough, clear film, with good moisture resistance. If the coating is to remain unpainted, the cured material should be overcoated with any good two pack polyurethane, since an unprotected epoxy coating will gradually yellow in sunlight. By using Gurit's range of filler powders, a Handipack resin and hardener mix can be turned into a very effective adhesive or filling compound.
AVAILABILITY
Handipack is available only in one size (250ml resin and 125ml hardener), with resin and hardener components each supplied with a dedicated dispensing pump that attaches to the container. The resin/hardener/pumps package is contained in a clear blister pack which can stand on a display shelf or hang from a display rack.

Sparpreg Unidirectional Epoxy Prepreg
Get Latest Price
¬ UD prepreg ideal for use in thick sections
¬ Excellent handling & processing properties during lamination
¬ Recommended cure between 85ºC / 120ºF and 120ºC / 250ºF
¬ Compatible with SPRINT™ / prepreg products
¬ Excellent mechanical properties¬ Out-of-autoclave curing
¬ Available with glass or carbon fibre
SparPreg™ was developed to benefit the lay-up of thick UD sections, such as wind turbine blade spars. The material can produce thick laminates of exceptional quality with low void content, without the need for an intermediary debulking process or additional dry fabric reinforcement to aid air removal. The net result enables blade manufacturers to eliminate production steps and redundant materials and increase capacity.
SparPreg™ has been specially formulated to achieve the outstanding in-cure and mechanical performance of the SE 91 prepreg and ST 93 SPRINT™ resin systems. SparPreg™ can be cured at temperatures as low as 85°C / 185°F, but can also be used for the rapid manufacture of components at 120°C / 250°F.
TYPICAL APPLICATIONS
SparPreg™ is an advanced UD prepreg, developed to enable the economic manufacture of unidirectional spar caps for more demanding blade designs, ideal for use in conjunction with other Gurit products. SparPreg™ is also available with Airstream™ Coating Technology – to eliminate air conditioning without compromise laminate quality.

Sparpreg Featuring Airstream Development
Get Latest Price
Conventional prepregs are processed using vacuum bag technology to remove the air between the plies prior to consolidation and cure. However, as laminate thickness increases it is difficult to maintain high quality, low void content laminates without the use of multiple de-bulking steps under controlled temperature conditions and/or the use of high pressure autoclaves to consolidate the plies. Due to the size of spar caps and the manufacturing cost targets it is not always feasible to use multiple process steps, expensive capital equipment, or invest in a tightly temperature controlled environment.
TYPICAL APPLICATIONSAirstream™ coating technology has been developed to enable the manufacture of high quality large structures for the wind energy and other markets with minimal infrastructure and labour investment.
LONG-LIFE RESIN TECHNOLOGYSparPreg™ with Airstream™ coating technology is now available with Long-Life Resin Technology, which uses new latent curing materials that provide a much longer shelf-life at 21°C and 2 months at 35°C.
