The HOERBIGER CP valve is the latest innovation among the HOERBIGER valves. Fields of application include the chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical industries, the medical field, the energy sector as well as the electronics industry. Whenever it comes to the compression of industrial gases, the CP valve is the right choice. Additional fields include liquefaction systems for LNG, ethylene, propylene or propane. The CP valve is marked by maximum efficiency and strength. When used to retrofit older compressors, the CP valve increases the economic efficiency of the system.

The aerodynamically profiled valve plate of the CP valve relies on carbon fiber-reinforced plastic materials from HOERBIGER’s research. It assures low maintenance costs and a long service life. Consequential damage from metallic fragments of valve plates are precluded. The valve’s innovative features additionally include specially developed springs for maximum dynamic safety and an integrated anti-rotation element. The latter guarantees reliable gripper actuation for opening and closing, even with frequent compressor load changes.

The CP valve is suitable for compressor speeds up to 1800 rpm and is offered in diameters ranging from 79 to 212 mm (3.11 to 8.35 inches). The valve lift is between a minimum of 1 mm (0.04 inch) and a maximum of 2.5 mm (0.1 inch); idle control and continuous control are possible. A wide operating range from -200 to +210ºC (-328 to +410ºF) at a maximum pressure of 50 bar and a differential pressure of 30 bar allow virtually unlimited use. The economic efficiency of the system is increased by low losses of pressure and low use of primary energy. Energy savings of up to 9 percent over competitive products is possible.

The HOERBIGER HPV valve is specifically designed for use under difficult conditions. Whether the use involves chlorine, hydrocarbons, hydrogen, noble gases or methane – the HPV valves satisfy virtually all the requirements of the natural gas, chemical, petrochemical and pharmaceutical industries as well as of the food and electronics industries. The wide range of uses includes reciprocating and diaphragm compressors as well as cooling equipment, for example for cooling the gas of turbo-generators or for mixing gases.

High pressures, operation without added lubrication or high temperatures do not impair the function of the valve. The profiled valve ring made of the carbon-filled, high-temperature-resistant and non-metallic synthetic material polyetherketone (PEK), which has a melting point of higher than 370ºC (698ºF), allows the valve to be used at an operating temperature as high as 300ºC (572ºF). The maximum pressure is 800 bar and, depending on the temperature, the differential pressure ranges between 200 and 400 bar.

HOERBIGER HPV valves are available in graduated diameters from 19 to 57 mm (0.75 to 2.24 inches) and depending of the model, the valve lift, together with the spring plate produced from wear-resistant spring steel, varies between 0.6 and 2.0 mm (0.02 and 0.08 inches). This makes the robust valves suitable for compressors with rotational speeds of up to 1800 rpm. The material selection and design are based on the higher benefit for the customers.

Show everythinA new manufacturing method allows carbon fiber-reinforced, high temperature-resistant polymer material (PEEK) to be processed in a net-shape injection molding operation. The result is a full-fledged PowerPEEK™ valve plate where all contours are created directly during molding. The carbon fibers are evenly distributed in the component, and its stability is not impaired by the subsequent removal of material. As a result, the service life of PowerPEEK™ valve plates is six times longer than that of other high-performance polymers. In addition, the valve plate and guard are profiled and feature a flow-optimized design, reducing valve losses by as much as 40 percent.The outstanding efficiency of the XP valve offers the freedom for more space-saving designs of new cylinders, since fewer valves are needed at the same performance and the same flow rate. Existing machines also benefit: depending on operating conditions, one or more valves can be eliminated as part of a compressor upgrade. Fewer valves per cylinder help lower the costs associated with maintenance and replacement parts.
