What happens to the body in Cancer?
The abnormal (cancerous) cells divide uncontrollably in the body and have the ability to break into (infiltrate) and destroy the normal body tissue. These abnormal cells can then start spreading throughout the body (metastasis) at a later stage.The problem occurs because the normal body tissues cannot get enough resources to survive due to the consumption of these resources by the cancerous cells.

What causes Cancer?
Cancer is triggered by ‘mutation’ in the DNA of the calls of the body. A mutation is a damaging change that has occurred in the DNA. DNA of the cells is like an ‘informative set of instructions about growth and division’. When this gets damaged (mutated), the cells have no proper instructions on how to grow and divide, so they start growing haphazardly and multiplying in a chaotic manner. This causes the onset of what is called ‘cancer’. Now this mutation can be caused due to a number of factors such as:

• Genetic tendency (Family history of cancer)
• Virus (certain carcinogenic virus)
• Smoking
•  Excessive drinking
•  Being obese (overweight)
•  Skin damage caused by excessive exposure to ultraviolet radiation
•  Unsafe contact (certain transmitted viral infections)
• Certain harmful chemicals in the environment
• Some chronic health conditions such as Ulcerative colitis, Hepatitis C, etc can turn cancerous

Causes:
Any factor that injures the

wall (protective lining) of stomach provokes the symptoms of gastritis. Common causes of Gastritis include:
Infection: Most commonly Bacterial (Helicobacter Pylori) and occasionally due to Fungal, parasitic or viral infection

Symptoms:
Gastritis usually causes pain and/or burning in the upper abdomen or burning pain in the chest region. There may be loss of appetite or a sensation of fullness after a few mouthfuls. Gastritis can also cause belching (burps), nausea, vomiting, etc. The condition is more commonly seen in middle aged and elderly people though the occurrence in youngsters is on the rise nowadays.

Gout is a form of arthritis which is caused by the accumulation of uric acid crystals in joints. In this condition, due to a metabolic dysfunction, there is deposition of uric acid in and around the joints causing severe painfulness, swelling and restricted mobility of the affected joint.

Causes:
The underlying cause of gout is a disturbance in Purine metabolism of the body. Purine is a substance found plenty in the living cells as well as in many food articles. Uric acid is a body waste product, which is produced in the body after the breakdown of Purine. Underexcretion of uric acid through the kidneys and large intestines or excess formation of uric acid due to certain factors (such as alcohol, lack of physical activity, crash diet, meat, etc.) leads to accumulation of excess uric acid in the blood, eventually leading to Gout. The exact cause for the underexcretion remains unknown in many cases, and it is believed to be more genetically determined.

Acne or pimples is a common skin condition frequently seen in young individuals during teenage and youth years. This occurs mainly due to the action of hormones on the oil glands in the skin. The draining ducts of the oil glands get blocked and hence they are not able to drain the oil secretion. The oil and cells inside the blocked gland form a perfect environment for the growth of Propionibacterium acnes (the organism responsible for acne).

 Thus, it results in the formation of pimples or acne.

Acne usually occurs on the face, chest, back, shoulders and neck. It is one of the most common skin conditions. Although acne is not a serious threat to the health, yet it can lead o scarring and disfigurement of the face that can have a significant impact on the patient.

Acne may present itself in various forms and these are as follows:
Whiteheads and blackheads (Comedones): White or black tiny bumps on the skin which are nothing but the enlarged and plugged hair follicles

• Papules: Inflamed lesions that usually appear as small, pink bumps on the skin and can be tender to the touch

• Pustules (pimples): Pus-filled lesions that may be red at the base

• Nodules: Large, painful, solid lesions that are lodged deep within the skin

Alcoholic liver disease usually occurs after years of excessive drinking. The longer the alcohol usealcohol use and the more alcohol that was consumed, the greater the likelihood of developing liver diseaseliver disease.

Allergy is a disorder of the immune system often also referred to as atopy. Strictly, allergy is osne of four forms of hypersensitivity and is called type I (or immediate) hypersensitivity.

It is characterized by excessive activation of certain white blood cells called mast cells and basophils by a type of antibody known as IgE, resulting in an extreme inflammatory response. Common allergic reactions include eczema, hives, hay fever, asthma, food allergies, and reactions to the venom of stinging insects such as wasps and bees.

It is a sudden patchy hair loss in people with no obvious skin disorder or systemic disease.
The scalp and beard are most frequently affected, but any hairy area may be involved. Hair loss may affect most or all of the body (alopecia universalis). Alopecia areata is thought to be an autoimmune disease affecting genetically susceptible people exposed to unclear environment triggers,

Simply, asthma in children is called as childhood asthma. When translated in a medical language, it is called Asthmatic Bronchitis. Again, it simply means a kind of bronchitis, which is asthmatic in nature.

Atopic dermatitis is an immune meditated inflammation of the skin, often with a significant genetical component. Pruritus (itching) is the primary symptom; skin lesions range from mild erythema to severe lichenification.

AD primarily affects children in urban

areas or developed countries. Like asthma, it may be linked to pro-allergic/pro-inflammatory T-cells immune response. Such responses are becoming more common in developed countries, because trends toward smaller families, cleaner indoor environment, and early use of vaccination and antibiotics deprive children of early exposure to infection and allergens that suppress pro-allergic T cells and induce tolerance.

Causes:
Filariasis: This is the most frequent cause of chyluria. Filariasis is endemic in some areas, mainly in the Asian continent. Repeated filarial attacks lead to obstruction of lymph flow. This leads to dilatation of the lymphatics and later they rupture into urinary system leading to milky urine.
Non-parasitical causes of chyluria: Tumors, abscesses, trauma, tuberculosis, congenital, etc.

Initial symptoms consist of tingling, numbness, unsteadiness and progressive weakness usually affecting the feet and then the hands and gradually progressing up the limbs.

Hepatitis means an inflammation of the liver. When the inflammation of the liver is due to a specific RNA virus which leads to chronic inflammation, it is called Hepatitis C.

There are several virus names as A,B,C,D,E, etc. which are known to affect the liver, producing Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, etc. In

fact, this particular virus has a capacity to induce not only inflammation but scarring of the liver, which is called as cirrhosis of liver.The virus tends to multiply rapidly hence not allowing to develop natural antibodies in adequate quantity.
