This grass suitable for high rainfall areas requiring little fertilization and one of the varieties noted for least maintenance. Warm-season grass with a dense, medium to dark green turf and produces an attractive lawn with a fine textured grass blade requiring very low maintenance. Excellent growth in humid climates. This variety of grass withstands water submergence. Ideal for usage in areas with heavy rainfall and humid climates such as the coastal regions.

This is a fast growing variety suitable for well drained areas with moderate rainfall. This variety covers maximum area in India as it is easy to mow and suitable for very large areas and remains dormant in summers and spring back in the rainy season. Since this variety repairs itself very quickly from damage it is suitable for sports fields, party lawns and public parks. This variety requires frequent mowing to be kept in top condition.

This variety is suitable for very heavy rainfall areas and for large lawns. Paspalum can tolerate temporary submergence and is most suitable for all coastal zones. It is so aggressive that it dominates the weeds and over-runs them. It is a shade tolerant grass.

St. Augustine is a dark green grass with broad, flat blades. It is commonly known as "runners" and forms a dense layer of grass. This is a variety used best as a ground cover, underneath trees and is presently the most shade tolerant grass in India. This variety performs well in large areas and tolerates very heavy rainfall. This is most suitable grass to resolve a difficult situation where grass cannot be put due to shade. However even this variety cannot be put in intense shade

Thick green (7), medium texture, can tolerate semi-shade (6), suitable for smaller areas of light use and moderate maintainance

Apart from the cost of Natural turf grass, there is still no surface better for actual quality play than natural grass, which has no limited life span if properly maintained. It does have a limited number of hours use per week, unlike the Synthetic Turf option, but, the latter has disadvantages, like, it can get very hot and uncomfortable for ground contact sports, and is by no means maintenance free in dusty climates.
