Iron Ore Mining
The Hothur Group has been in the busines of Iron Ore Mining and Export for over four decades. The group has a capacity of nearly 7 million tons per annum (MTPA) and owns the following captive mines in the Bellary district:
- Mallangola Iron Ore mines, Sandur
- Vittalapura Iron Ore mines, Sandur
- Ramgud Iron Ore Mines, Sandur
- Kariganoor Iron Ores mines, Hospet
- Venkatagiri Iron Ore mines, Sandur
All our mines have a very potent ore output with 63-65% Fe content. The Group has world class equipment for all mining operations including development of the mines and feeding of iron ore to the process plants.

Sponge Iron
The Hothur Group has a fully operational sponge iron plant with a capacity of 300 tons per day (3 Kilns of 100 TPD each). Commissioned in 2005, the plant today employs over 100 people and benefits from the premium quality Iron Ore supplied by the Group's captive mines.

Logistics
The Group has developed a 2.4 Km railway siding facility from Kuditini village up to Kurugod level crossing in Bellary. Spread over an area of 100 acres, this infrastructure is used for loading and unloading of basic raw materials such as iron ore and coal and transport of finished products. The railway siding has a capacity to handle 1.5 million tons per annum by loading/unloading upto two rakes a day, at 4,000 tons per rake.
The railway siding also provides additional facilities for proper storage, stacking, crushing, screening, weighment of the basic iron ore and coal apart from transporting the same for the domestic industries.
