The apparatus consists of an evaporating flask rotated by heavy duty motor in a heating water bath (optional). The evaporating flask is pear shaped to give a large surface area of evaporation. There is also a variable speed motor which helps in vacuum distillation of solvent at high & low temperature. There is also a glass duct which protrudes about 120 m.m in to the condenser. The condenser is fitted with standard joint at the bottom for receiver flask. The unit is fitted with a quick action jack.

This is primarily used for tablets to determine the durability at the time of production. The test equipment consists of a transparent plastic Perspex drum 300 mm diameter X 35 mm deep with cover. There is also shaped radit blades which takes the tablets along with it up to the central height and lets them off while the drum is rotating. The drum rotates at a fix speed of 30 RPM. There is also an electric timer to control the rotation period. Tablets are weighed before & after the test and the difference in weights at a particular time period indicates the rate of abrasion. These is also an electric time switch & neon indicator on the front panel with 3 core wire and plug to work on 220 volts A.C.

The digital colony counter is fitted with automatic 3 digits LED Digital Display. Illuminated standard wolfhugel ruling on the counting plate ensures clearly differentiated and sharply defined colonies. Each touch of the Marking Pencil in the petridish increments the colony count by ‘1’ and the flowing LED digital depicts the total colony count. Maximum colony count possible up to 9999 (4 digit display). It is provided with a manual reset of digital display, and an ON/OFF Switch on the counting plate. There is also an 100 m.m. diameter lens, cord & plug. It works on 220V A.C.

The machine is used for the determination of disintegration of time of tablets. The test equipment consists of 1 liter Beaker and there is also a motorized shaft moving up and down at 28 to 32 RPM through which the tablet can be tested simultaneously. It is approximately carrying a rigid basket rack assembly. There is also a horizontal strip at the upper end of the shaft to support cylindrical standard size glass tubes. On the top a unit having hot plate rating 65 watts is fixed for beaker. Thermostat is there to maintain the temperature b/w 35ºC to 37ºC.
