Oil seals & Gaskets are mechanical seals which fill the space between two or more mating surfaces, generally to prevent leakage from or into the joined objects while under compression.

Oil seals & Gaskets allow "less-than-perfect" mating surfaces on machine parts where they can fill irregularities. It is usually desirable that the gasket be made from a material that is to some degree yielding, such that it is able to deform and tightly fill the space it is designed for, including any slight irregularities. A few gaskets require an application of sealant directly to the gasket surface to function properly. YAMAHA genuine parts stock a wide range of quality gaskets & oil seals made especially from eco-friendly materials.

What to Check - Leakage in the mating surfaces to be checked regularly to prevent damage.

The term "bearing" is derived from the verb "to bear", and true to its meaning, a bearing in a machine is an element that allows one part to bear (i.e., to support) another.

A bearing also constrains relative motion to only the desired motion, and reduces friction between moving parts in your YAMAHA vehicle.

YAMAHA bearings have been manufactured by high quality materials to endure high load bearing capability thereby improving replacement intervals.

What to Check - Whether there is play in the wheel hub/vehicle handle or if the wheel/vehicle handle does not turn smoothly.

When to Replace - In above situation Or At the intervals specified in owners manuals Or as advised by YAMAHA service engineer.

Brake Pad & Brake Shoes - YAMAHA Genuine Brake Pads & Brake Shoes are designed for each model in order to achieve the best braking performance. It is highly recommended to use genuine Brake Pads & Brake Shoes because these two parts are the most important to stop a vehicle and if you cannot stop safely, it can be life threatening. Break pads are used in bikes with disk brakes whereas brakeshoes are used in bikes with drum brakes.

Non genuine looks same, but- Non genuine Brake Pads and Brake Shoes fit quite well in YAMAHA motorbikes. It is so because After Market Part Venders make Brake Pads to fit genuine brake calipers. Therefore, they will say that non genuine Brake Pads are right parts. However they never think about the entire motorbikes, or even complete brake systems. They also lack the knowledge and expertise to design brake pads and shoes that will give good overall braking force and performance. In most cases aftermarket manufacturers do not have access to a wide range of makes and models. So if they do any testing at all, it is usually be on random brands and models - which is not the ideal situation to develop the best brake shoes and pads.

What to Check - Each Brake pad is provided with a wear indicator groove, which allows you to check the Brake Pad wear without having to disassemble the brakes. Please check whether a brake pad has worn to the point that the wear indicator groove has almost disappeared.

When to Replace - In the above condition Or at the intervals specified in owner's manual Or as advised by a YAMAHA service engineer.

Where to Replace - At your nearest YAMAHA authorized Dealership or Service network.

What to Check - Each Drum Brake is provided with a wear indicator, which allows you to check the Brake Shoes wear without having to disassemble the brakes. Please check whether a brake shoe has worn to the point that the wear indicator has reached the wear limit line.

When to Replace - In the above condition Or At the intervals specified in owner's manual Or as advised by a YAMAHA service engineer.

Where to Replace - At your nearest YAMAHA authorized Dealership or Service network.

Features:
  • Genuine Yamaha brake pads have been developed specially
  • Superior Breaking performance developed in conjunction with the engine, suspension and chassis.
  • Optimized high breaking power with low wear
  • Controlling breaking noise and vibration for a more pleasant ride.
  • Break operation and balance designed to provide the maximum riding joy

YAMAHA Clutch & Friction plates are manufactured using high quality material that facilitate easier and smoother shifting of gears, thus assuring a jerk free ride and optimum power transmission. The optimum carbon content in the pressure plates ensures easier disengagement due to spring effect. Keeping in line with international standards, the range of YAMAHA clutch plates are completely asbestos free, eliminating exposure to cancer-causing materials, making them environmental friendly.

Maintenance - The clutch friction plate is a consumable part and must be renewed regularly even when used correctly. Old friction plates will lead to engine failure and other troubles. Fuel consumption will also be affected. It is not possible to disassemble the clutch inside the engine directly to check the friction plate, but the condition of the plate can be estimated by the distance on the odometer, the running condition of the engine, and the rider's style of riding.

When to Replace - At the intervals specified in owner's manual or as advised by YAMAHA service engineer.
Where to Replace - At your nearest YAMAHA authorized Dealership or Service network.

Features:
  • Long and Consistent Performance

Drive chain must have the strength and durability to match the engine's power and the hardness of the sprocket material. The side plates, which may be considered as the 'frame' of the drive chain, must also have the necessary strength to withstand the tensile load put upon it.

The teeth of the sprocket and any other parts subject to large forces are made as hard as possible, through a heat treatment method called Carburized quenching, after which the sprockets are tempered to gradually decrease the hardness towards the inner part, to produce a tough sprocket of ideal strength.

What to Check - Drive chain slack & sprocket teeth should be checked regularly by the rider and should be maintained within specified limits.  Improper drive chain slack will overload the engine as well as other vital parts of the motorcycle and can lead to chain slippage or breakage.

When to Replace - In the above condition Or at the intervals specified in owner's manual Or as advised by a YAMAHA service engineer.

Where to Replace - At your nearest YAMAHA authorized Dealership or Service network.

Maintenance - Drive chain must be cleaned & lubricated by Yamalube Chain Clean & Chain Lube only.

Features:

  • Drive Chain and Sprockets can be replaced regularly
Chain will stretch after long usage.
  • Stretched chain cannot transmit engine powers to rear tire.
  • Sprockets will be grinded down because of friction.
  • Grinding of the Sprockets result in slippage of the Chain & ultimately breakage of the chain.

The role of the air filter is to clean air. An air filter, filters foreign matter, grit and dust to protect pistons and cylinders from scratch thereby protecting the carburetor from clogging. Engines require air to explode. After clean air comes from air filter, it goes to a carburetor and go to an engine with gasoline and air.

Dust captured in any air filter causes a gradual reduction in airflow over the working life of the part, resulting in a loss of engine performance and poor fuel mileage. Genuine YAMAHA Air Filters are designed in such way, so as to filter the air in the most efficient way, whilst maintaining their flow rate.

Why use YAMAHA Genuine Air Filter - YAMAHA genuine air filters are manufactured and designed in such a way so as to optimise appropriate air flow to engines, i.e. not too much air flow nor too less air flow. At YAMAHA we test air filters many times to ensure superiour quality for all models.

What to Check - Check for the dust collected in the filter mesh.

When to Replace - If large amount of dust is deposited or at the intervals specified in owner's manual or as advised by Yamaha service engineer.

Where to Replace - At your nearest Yamaha authorized Dealership or Service network.
