The representational is photography that seeks to simply record a scene as it naturally occurred, without any interference, staging, or even artistic interpretation. The artistic, seeks to create something beautiful but not necessarily realistic or accurate.

One of the most difficult questions to answer in any field where creativity and individual point of view has a role has to be, ‘Is it art?’ Starting with the question of whether art can be defined in any way that’s useful, the question always requires a certain amount of personal interpretation and feeling to answer, meaning there can never be a true consensus. Whether the mode of expression is painting, music, or literature, a work can be a sublime work of art to some and something less to others.

Photography is no different. Like writing, which sees a distinct division between journalism and fiction, photography is understood to have a clear division between the representational and the artistic. The representational is photography that seeks to simply record a scene as it naturally occurred, without any interference, staging, or even artistic interpretation. The artistic, seeks to create something beautiful but not necessarily realistic or accurate. The question of what is artistic photography ultimately comes down to this concept of transformation.

First and foremost, artistic photography has to be transformational, not merely representational. While you might happen to capture an incredible scene on your way to work, your photo can’t be considered art unless it has been changed in some way by your intelligence and thought process. However, this doesn’t mean that artistic photography can only be achieved with complex staging and lighting or digital effects; in fact, some of the most artistic photos ever taken have been landscapes – for example, the work of Ansel Adams.

This is because the artistic transformation is more subtle than most people understand. You can apply an artistic filter to any photograph via the following:

  • Framing: Simply by choosing to frame or crop the scene in a certain way, you can elevate a photograph to the status of art. Alfred Stieglitz’s famous photograph The Steerage (1907) is often considered the first important artistic photograph ever taken. While it could be seen as purely representational, Stieglitz’s decisions in framing, in what to include in the scene, and linking the various shapes and lines that naturally occurred before him were actually transformational, resulting in a photograph that is true art.
  • Film choice: In the modern age the choice of film stock, color versus black and white, and other technical decisions can act as an artistic filter, transforming a scene even if no other staging or technical alterations are made to it.

  • Positioning: Representational photography must simply take in the scene it comes across. However the scene can be elevated simply by making the decision to shoot the photo from a specific angle, a specific vantage point, and at a specific point in time.

Purpose, plan, objectives, and individuals with stern faces are the things come to mind when you say the word “Corporate”. Whether it is a conference or launch party, it is full of intellectuals ironing out the details or making decisions for big investments. And capturing these valuable moments undeniably requires the right set of skills and precision.

Best corporate photography means you have to capture all the crucial moments as well as people who played their role in intensifying business growth.  Each picture should narrate the success story of the company or portray the dedication and determination of the employees. In short, capturing compelling pictures of corporate business events is a challenge. And hiring a professional photographer is definitely the best way to shoot people networking at a business conference.

We, Localgraphers, in this regard, excel in all photography genres and know what it takes to cover formal and corporate events like conferences, presentations, lectures, and official ceremonies. We understand that boring corporate photography does not reflect on your company or brand. It is worth noting that quality photography of your business events can impact your brand identity as your customers use imagery to determine and evaluate your business profile.

Thanks to our competent photographers who capture your corporate events in a unique way that sparks the motivation and interest level of potential attendees. If you have some important corporate events in the pipeline, consider making them events-to-remember with these unique corporate photography ideas.

But before that let’s quickly overview how hiring a professional photographer can take your brand image to the next level.

Shoot from creative angles

If you’re hosting a business event or dinner where everyone is seated, you may have to get creative with composition to get a variety of images. “Utilize interesting angles and perspectives so the shot isn’t so utilitarian,” says Brian Beaver, VP of Design at Eventbrite.

“To keep the photos interesting, keep angles interesting,” says Christie Connell, the owner of Azure Photo Studio who shoots countless events of all kinds every year. “If there are floral arrangements, you can shoot between them. If it’s at a restaurant, go outside and take a picture looking in through the window. Look at the event not just as a participant, but from an outsider’s perspective, to get a broader sense of the day.”

Don’t be afraid to have fun with posed shots.

While most corporate events will want a variety of shots of attendees — both candid and posed (or “grip and grin” shots, as photographers call them) — challenge yourself to get more playful.

“Often event organizers just want the ‘grip and grin,’” says Misha Vladimirskiy, a partner at Filterless.co. “That works with interesting or famous people, but when you’re doing a dinner or a speaking engagement or a fashion show, it gets repetitive. Trust your photographer’s creativity, and you’ll get images that will endure and stand alone on Instagram.

As someone who has photographed events in New York City for the past 12 years, here are my most important event photography tips and strategies for nailing a shoot, whether it is a small family gathering, an evening cocktail event, or a wedding with a very intense mother-in-law!

1. Set up the shot and wait for the expressionsWhile you often will need to capture some environmental shots, the photographs of people are the stars of the show, and to take a good photograph of people you need good expressions. Event photography is much more than just aiming the camera and shooting. It’s about seeking out poignant moments, powerful expressions, and often just waiting for them to appear.

2. Fill the frame

When we talk about creating images with emotion, capturing strong facial expressions is usually how you do that. But in addition to nailing the timing of the shot, framing is just as important.

It is wonderful to create complex images capturing the people, the background, or multiple things happening at once. You should certainly try to get those images, but when a powerful moment happens, get in there and frame what’s most important.

3. Be aware of your surroundings and look for that special momentThere is a reason why experience is so important for event photography. That is because event photographers learn to have a good feel for what is going on so they can anticipate what is going to happen.

Your awareness is so important at events.

When the camera is down you should be looking around trying to figure out where and when the next picture-perfect moment is going to appear.

4. Don’t settle for stiff shots!

Uncomfortable people are the bain of every event photographer’s existence.

If everyone were outgoing and extroverted, the job would be so much easier, but that’s just not the reality, and your job is to help make people comfortable.

As an introvert myself, this was a tough skill to learn but trust me, it’s possible for even the quietest event photographer to master this. If you see someone who looks uncomfortable, whether it’s a candid shot or a posed portrait, talk to them! Smile, ask them how their day is going, and show genuine interest. Crack a joke, find something in common, and just engage them in any way you can.Never tell them they look uncomfortable! Instead, compliment them.

Being in situations with large groups of new people at each job can fry your brain a bit until you get used to it. But that’s not an excuse to slink back and hide in the background for much of the event.

With a professional camera, you cannot hide no matter what you do. So slinking in the background can just make you more obvious and people more uncomfortable with your presence.

Fashion photography is a genre of photography which is devoted to displaying clothing and other fashion items. ... Fashion photography has developed its own aesthetic in which the clothes and fashions are enhanced by the presence of exotic locations or accessories.
Catalog Photography

Catalog photography is perhaps the simplest of the 4 fashion photography styles. Its purpose is to sell clothing, and the focus is on the outfit. It is often a good place to start in the field of fashion photography before progressing to some of the other styles.

Catalog photography really is a type of product photography. The only real difference between catalog photography and product photography is the presence of the model. Even so, the focus remains on the clothes.

The background of the photos are usually plain–white and grey colors are the most common. There are minimal accessories and few props. The models typically stand up straight to show the outfit, although they may strike different poses to show off features of the outfit like pockets.Usually, the biggest problem the photographer faces with this style of fashion photography is the lighting. You want to use lighting that captures the details of the clothing without washing out the colors. To do this, it’s best to avoid using indoor lights or shooting at night.

An offshoot of catalog photography is called Lookbook. It combines catalog photography with lifestyle photography and involves shooting models wearing the clothes in authentic locations and in everyday situation

High Fashion Photography

High fashion is something people see frequently on the cover of their favorite magazines. But, from the photographer’s perspective, high fashion means well-known supermodels in often exaggerated poses, a sometimes unrealistic wardrobe, and all elements including hairstyles and location blended to create a flawless image.

But, getting that flawless image is quite the challenge. You’re constantly confronted with difficult decisions regarding location, lighting, models, wardrobe, hair, and much more. Even if much of that is decided for you, you still have to put it together so that it looks glamorous and appealing.

One of the first things you should do is carefully consider the mood you want to create with the shoot. You don’t have to be too specific and you don’t have to stick with it if inspiration leads you elsewhere, but it’s a good place to start. You also need the right model for your shoot. You want someone experienced, but also someone who will collaborate with you to create that mood you want. As well as the model, you’ll want a good team.

You’ll want people who are responsible as well as talented. You’ll want professionals in makeup, wardrobe, and hair styling. It also helps if they share your vision for the shoot and the art of photography in general.

If you have a choice of location, you’ll want to again consider the mood you’re trying to create. There are also practical considerations, such as whether you need a permit for your location, and if it’s indoors, you might need permission.

And, then there’s the equipment. You’re going to need lighting equipment as well as a good camera. You’ll want a small weight camera with a good battery life and features that help with low light conditions. You will also want a selection of lenses for varied types of images.

Food photography is arguably one of the most challenging types of photography out there. Like painting, you start with a blank canvas and build. Layer upon layer, you construct the photo until you reach the perfect balance of reality and art.

Everything in the photo is a decision. Every piece is perfectly placed by the photographer.

Starting out is frustrating, I know. You’re the chef, stylist, and the photographer. Once you reach technical proficiency with the camera, what’s next? I have been, and in a lot of ways still am, in that position. So, how do you improve your food photography beyond the basics? You work on the story.

Whether it is an after-party from the perfect cocktail, or the homemade roasted chicken recipe on the farm, like all photography, you’re telling stories.

Some shoots are more complicated stories than others, and it may sound like a lot of work, but it’s really not. Here are five quick tips you can use to seriously improve your food photography and tell better stories.

# CHOOSE YOUR ANGLE

There are really only a few camera angles in food photography that you see again and again, but you need to make the one you choose, a conscious decision. Where you place the camera will affect the type of story you’re trying to tell.

Think of the food beforehand. Its size, shape, height and what is unique about it. Then place the camera where you think best highlights these qualities. Some dishes look great when you shoot from right in front of the food, and others are best suited when the you are looking down from directly above the table. Take a look at the cupcakes below; their spiralled and delicate toppings really stand out when shot from in front, yet the viewer doesn’t even see the size or shape when photographed from above.

# SURROUND YOUR HERO

When shooting from the front of the food try to keep a great foreground and background to play with. Use these empty spaces to tell more of a story. Surround your main dish with ingredients and props that relate to the food. Ingredients, sauces, oils, and cooking utensils could indicate how the dish was made.

Tins, jars, herbs, glasses, fabrics and linens could speak about the origin of the dish or the season in which it is served. Placing a few of these in the foreground and background will definitely elevate your story and give it depth.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the difference between a ‘generalist’ photographer, versus being a ‘specialist’ photographer.

A ‘generalist’ photographer photographs everything. A ‘specialist’ photographer only focuses on one genre (street photography, studio photography, wedding photography).

I was meditating on this idea quite a bit, and I realized: as human beings, we are generalists. Our bodies have many different parts— our head, arms, legs, and organs. Without all of these ‘general’ parts, we couldn’t survive.

A human being isn’t just a specialized part. A human being isn’t just a hand. A human being isn’t just a foot. A human being is a sum of the parts.

humans specialized

Also human beings eat ‘general’ foods. We can eat plants, and meat. We are omnivores. This is what helped us survive. We can eat practically anything, and survive.

A ‘specialized’ human being could perhaps only eat meat. Or only eat rice. But if suddenly we don’t have meat or rice, we would die.

better to be a general photographer

I also think that in our photography (if you want to survive for the long-run), you should be a generalist photographer.

As a generalist photographer, you are more flexible to your environment. You can adapt.

For example, when I hyper-specialized in just ‘street photography’ it worked well when I lived in a city. But when I moved to the suburbs, I died creatively. I then realized I need to generalize more in my photography, so I started to photograph anything that interested me. I shot stuff on the ground, urban landscapes, furniture in my home, light streaming through a window, personal photos of Cindy, and self-portraits of myself. I started to become re-born as a photographer. I felt alive again.

Avoid specialization

Even in careers and jobs, you don’t want to specialize. If you can only do web development— what are you going to do when WordPress takes over, and anyone can make a slick website without any coding experience?

If you are specialized in being a taxi driver, what are you going to do when Uber takes over? And what will Uber drivers do once self-driving cars take over?

Even in photography — what are you going to do if you are hyper-specialized as a wedding photographer? What will you do once iPhones are as good as DSLR’s, and the prices of wedding photography drops by 80%?

Photography plays a very important role in conversions. In most cases you only have a short amount of time to “make the sale” online and usually the traffic that comes to your website are people who have never been to your property before and have no understanding of how it looks, these people are going to decide whether or not to book with you based off the quality of the photos that they see on your site.
Html5 video & drone footageInternet speeds are getting faster, screen sizes keep getting larger and online video is looking better than ever

I am still amazed that the most popular page visited on average across all our hotel websites is the ‘accommodation’ page. The main need for people on a website thus appears to be - ‘what does my hotel room/apartment look like?’

Responsive website design allows large images to display full screen and immerse people into the experience you are offering, encouraging them to buy with confidence.

Pictures really do set the mood and tell the story quickly; the better the images, the better the story. It is important to communicate to people the services and unique features you offer through good photography, as it is fast and easy for the consumer.

Photography on location

We have photographed many hotels and resorts to capture the whole story of each property, from the lush landscaping of the grounds to the finer details of what is being served in the restaurants and the quality of the linen in the rooms.

While most photographers only plan on capturing a few photographs of each room. We understand that these images are being used for your website and gather the quantity of images required to have a website filled with great photos that don’t repeat, so every page has its own unique set of visuals.

Industrial photography is not as glamorous as fashion photography, or candid like street photography. But, it is just as interesting, important and challenging.

The concept of industrial photography is to take photos of equipment, products, machinery, and sometimes, a company’s workers and officials. Most of the time, however, the main subjects are large machinery or equipment like a transformer, gas terminal plant or water dam.

One of the reasons companies hire an industrial photographer is the need to have a good website that effectively showcases their products and services. Sure, one can print as many brochures and posters as possible, but a strong online presence is necessary for businesses to thrive in our social media-driven society. Industrial photographers are the ones tasked to give life to a company’s website, by taking photos of products, machinery and/or equipment that can help propel a business to success.

Examples of Industrial Photography

Most photos taken by industrial photographers focus on the ins and outs of the manufacturing and industrial sectors. In majority of these cases, the subjects are the equipment and machinery only. There are instances, though, when workers or company personnel are included in the picture.

Here are some examples of common industrial photography subjects:

  • Welders at work
  • A processing plant
  • Workers in a shipyard
  • Workers inside a factory or plant
  • A gas terminal plant
  • Nuclear reactors
  • Water treatment facilities
  • Dams
  • Tractors
  • Metal pressing operators at work
  • An assembly line in a plant or factory

Some industrial photographers also like taking close-up shots of tools at work. A good example would be an extreme close-up of a screwdriver boring a hole through a piece or pieces of wood. Another example would be an interior shot of a machine with its gears scanning up and down.

One of the best safety measures for industrial photographers is having the right camera equipment. Most essential among these are the lenses. If the aim is to capture the industrial scene in its truest sense, you will need to have several fast lenses with you. This will help you adjust accordingly to the size of your subject, as well as to the vastness of the area you might need to cover. In addition, with good zoom lenses, it will be easier for you to follow safety regulations because you won’t need to move close to subjects that are far from you.

Another factor that is essential to your safety as an industrial photographer is the area or location of the shoot, and the subject itself. You need to familiarize yourself with the area before the shoot, so you’ll know where you are allowed and not allowed to go. You also have to check the machine or equipment before the actual shoot. Ask someone to explain to you what the machine does and what safety measures you need to follow to avoid accidents and errors during the shoot. Likewise, you need to know how the machine works. You may not have to turn it on during the shoot, but such basic information will help you in terms of safety and precaution.

Make the shoot fun and playful.

We’re repeating this tip from the lifestyle photography post because it’s so important, perhaps the most important of all. You want the kids to have fun because then, they’ll be relaxed and more likely to give you their best genuine smiles. As a side bonus, the parents will also be happier, as you’re creating a positive memory for their kids.

How to make a photoshoot fun will depend on the kids’ ages and personalities. Unless you know the children already, be sure to ask the parents (and/or kids) ahead of time about their interests. When possible, allow them to choose props, a location, or an activity for the shoot. Getting them involved like this can make the shoot more valuable and fun for them

Go outside.

Natural behavior isn’t a button you can switch on or off with children. If you tell a child to smile or go play, they may end up just hanging by their parents’ side, blank-faced.

Instead of relying on words and obedience, be thoughtful about the environment you choose for the photoshoot. For many kids, a fun outdoor location will naturally draw out the expressions and behavior you’re trying to photograph. Forests, parks, and beaches are all great choices. Just by leaving the studio, you’ll raise your chances of getting an excellent candid portrait – and the background will be beautiful, too!

Use the child’s favorite toys.

If going outside isn’t a possibility, you’ll need to rely on toys to make a child feel at ease. While you can (and should) bring a stash of toys, it’s also a good idea to ask the parents to bring the child’s favorite toys. You can only guess what a child might like, whereas parents know every preference in detail. Even if the toys are ugly or hard to photograph, they can be a source of comfort for the kid, making them worth having around just in case.

Get out of the way.

Nothing stifles playfulness like a hovering adult. If you want a shy child to relax, avoid standing too close, and try to be subtle. Definitely don’t tell the child what to do. If you want to try a different toy, give it to one of the parents to introduce instead. By removing yourself from the scene like this, you’ll have a higher chance of seeing and capturing natural behavior.

If the child isn’t acting how you’d expected or hoped, view it as an opportunity to discover their personality. Many photographers want to see exuberant joy and happiness, but some children are more thoughtful and reserved, even while playing. They may not smile at the camera, but they’ll still show other emotions worth photographing, like curiosity.

Model Mayhem is a social networking site for models, photographers, make up artists, fashion designers, and agencies. ... Some models will charge you to photograph them, some photographers will charge models and designers for a shoot, and some will do a trade so that you can help each other better your portfolios.

1. Beach

Using the beach as your location offers an array of options for your shoot. For example, if you are shooting at a tropical beach in Florida, you will have crystal clear waters and beautiful sand. For a beach on the west coast in California, the landscape will have mountains in the distance, rocks to climb on and elevation that will offer depth.

Beach settings in Europe may be situated in small quaint towns that infuse a travel perspective into your portrait. When using the beach as your location, be sure to shoot a mixture of images on land and in the water. The juxtaposition of texture and color from sand to sea will definitely give a visually engaging look to your work.

2. Open Field

Our second location idea for outdoor shooting is to use the landscape of an open field. In this situation, you want a field that is flat and long, in order to create perspective and depth in your images. This can be a place with budding green grass or even a field full of flowers – as long as there is a vast space to place your subject.

When shooting in an open field, you should focus on creating different lengths between you and your model. Compose up-close portraits, full body shots with a small distance between you two and then increase the distance as to have your model immersed into the landscape. Since an open field does not have distracting surrounding elements, capture a range of perspectives. This means you can have your subject lay down within the grass or you can angle upward capturing more of the surrounding sky.

3. Cafe / Coffee Shop

Using elements and places in your city is a great way to create creative portraits. The cafe scene is a popular idea for many photographers who want their images to be infused with a storytelling element. Cafes and coffee shops can be found in every city and most have some visually aesthetic appeal such as a design or color scheme.

Additionally, coffee shops and cafes allow for various methods of composition. Your subject can be seated, standing, inside the cafe, through the window or out on the terrace – the possibilities are endless.

SpecialityPortrait photography or portraiture in photography is a photograph of a person or group of people
Service Typeportrait photography
Usage/ApplicationYes

Portrait photography or portraiture in photography is a photograph of a person or group of people that captures the personality of the subject by using effective lighting, backdrops, and poses. A portrait picture might be artistic, or it might be clinical, as part of a medical study.

1. Use natural light through a window or screen

Taking a photo in direct sunlight can be unforgiving on skin. Natural lighting through a screen, shutter blinds or windows can soften the harshness of the light and assist in an awesome portrait shot. Not to mention the fact that it’s inexpensive versus studio portrait lighting.

2. Shoot from the right height

To capture your subject eye-to-eye, take the extra step. Use equipment or physically get down to elevate or lower your camera for the best shot possible.

3. Shoot flash from an angle

On-camera flash gives a deer-in-the-headlights look, and while flat lighting might be a look you’re going for, it’s more likely than not not the look you always want. Try flash from an angle by using a set-up with a light stand or having a friend hold it. Find lessons on off-camera flash at The Strobist.

4. Experiment with overexposure

Generally speaking, overexposure is something that photographers try to avoid. But unique to portrait photography, an overexposed image can actually help achieve a clean and polished look. This is because in an overexposure, some details, such as flaws, are lost. The trick here is to use it with moderation, so you don’t overdo it.

Product photography uses specific techniques to showcases products in an attractive way and entice potential buyers to purchase specific products.

1. Create a Scene

This is a big area to cover, so let’s start here first! When photographing your product, it is important to not only think about how your product looks, but also the entire area around it. You can use your background to help you sell your product. You may have heard the saying:

“Don’t sell the mattress, sell a good night’s sleep.”

The same applies regardless of what you are selling. For example, don’t sell the beer, sell a good time:This photo is also great because it shows the product in the environment that it is intended to be used in. The environment of your product photo can really help customers to imagine themselves using it, which is also going to help you sell more!

Of course, it takes a lot of planning to orchestrate a shot like the above, so another idea is to create a scene yourself using props. Take a look at this photo:

Don’t just sell the poster, sell the beautiful office space.”

The photographer here has truly create a scene in which to host the product, and it makes for a more interesting photograph, which of course makes for more engaged customers!

Another popular technique is using a Bokeh background to make the product the main focus of the shot. Bokeh is a blur effect and most people use it to create a background like the one seen here:

2. Macro Shots
Macro shots are super close ups. You probably see these a lot in restaurant menus, think: a blob of butter slowly melting atop a cob of corn. These are very evocative photos that are supposed to “awake our senses” and encourage us to buy – and it usually works!
Chess and playing the guitar are hobbies that have devoted followers, so macro shots like this are sure to ignite some fond memories for them that will heighten their intent to buy. However, alongside macro shots, it is also important to include full shots of your products. When selling online, the more information you can give to your customers, the more likely they will be to make a purchase. People want to know that what they see is what they get.

3. Place the Product in the Background
These are almost like the opposite of macro shots. By placing the product in the background of the shot, rather than as the main focus, you can show it in its intended environment and spark the imagination of your prospective customers, like the prints in this image:

Usage/ApplicationYes

Wildlife photography is a genre of photography concerned with documenting various forms of wildlife in their natural habitat.

As well as requiring photography skills, wildlife photographers may need field craft skills. For example, some animals are difficult to approach and thus a knowledge of the animal''s behavior is needed in order to be able to predict its actions. Photographing some species may require stalking skills or the use of a hide/blind for concealment.

While wildlife photographs can be taken using basic equipment, successful photography of some types of wildlife requires specialist equipment, such as macro lenses for insects, long focal length lenses for birds and underwater cameras for marine life. However, a great wildlife photograph can also be the result of being in the right place at the right time[1] and often involves a good understanding of animal behavior in order to anticipate interesting situations to capture in photography.

01. Choose a good cameraThere are many types of cameras out there, but only a few are versatile enough for shooting wildlife outdoors. The best choices you have are SLRs and mirrorless cameras. The mid- and pro-level models are typically weather-sealed, and they can be set manually and can accept different lenses.
A regular camera constantly exposed to harsh elements will not last very long, so you need a camera that’s weather-sealed. Although the extra protection makes it more expensive, knowing that it can perform in different conditions is enough reason to invest in it.
Shooting outdoors can also be challenging even for the most advanced cameras out there, so you need a camera with manual mode. You''re going to need full control when the situation becomes too complicated to use automatic features.
Meanwhile with interchangeable lenses, your camera will allow you to take photos of insects from a close distance to large animals from really far away.

02. Use the right lensThe most common lenses people use for wildlife photography are telephotos because they can be used to shoot from long distances. Some of them feature optical stabilization (OS) to minimize shaking due to the extreme magnification, but these models can also be quite expensive. Thankfully, there are also cheap plastic ones you can use while you''re still learning.  They may not have OS, but you can always keep them steady on a sturdy tripod and use a high shutter speed to minimize blur.
For a starter lens, consider getting a telephoto zoom to allow more shooting flexibility. A few hundred dollars can get you an 18mm-300mm lens that you can use to take photos from up close to long distances. If you look hard enough, you can even find some that feature optical stabilization. If you want to get a telephoto with a fixed focal length (no zooming capabilities), look for one that''s at least 100mm. The best models are from old film cameras because they not only feature quality glass but are also affordable and durable.

Type Of ServiceCorporate Videography

Corporate video refers to any type of non-advertisement based video content created for and commissioned by a business, company, corporation, or organization. Today, the vast majority of corporate video content is hosted online and is published on the company’s website page and distributed through social media or email marketing.

Corporate video content is targeted towards that company’s core selling demographics or internal employees. Corporate video production is frequently the responsibility of a marketing director or corporate communications manager. Examples of corporate video include Corporate overview videos, staff training and safety videos, promotional/brand films, investor relations and shareholder videos, market updates, product videos, executive proposal videos, and customer testimonial videos.

As video becomes a more integral part of a company’s communication strategy, often companies will release corporate videos with press release announcements, newsletters and other forms of communication to bolster the message reach and effectiveness.

Corporate Video Production companies leverage a company’s marketing material, guidance from their communication director, and content specific copy to produce a corporate video. The time and scale of a corporate video production can vary greatly based on complexity and messaging. Some corporate videos may use only minimal crew and basic equipment, while others elect for higher quality content and contract with corporate video production specialists whose core focus is on creating B2B corporate video content.

Video content has become a significant ranking factor for search engine optimization from search engines such as Google, Yahoo and Bing and as a result more companies are electing to create corporate video content for their website

Corporate culture videos

1: “Funny company story” video: No one ever experiences the same thing the same way. Pick a few employees to tell the story of the funniest thing that happened in the office. It could also possibly be a customer story. Sequester three people and have them tell the same story. Pepper them with questions that will lead to other interviewees, such as, “What do you think Steve would say about this incident?” If your culture allows it, create a dramatization of the incident to include in the video.

2: “Why we love our job” video:  Do one-on-one interviews with employees talking about why they love their job. Try to get them to talk about specifics of their job and the work they do. Try to avoid a lot of “It’s the people” answers. Why are you proud to have this job? What makes your job fantastic?

3: “Day in the life” video: Pick your most interesting and camera friendly employee and do a day in the life of their job. Have them narrate their entire day and follow them everywhere. Be specific about what you’re working on and the challenge you’re trying to complete. Start at home and end at home.

This well-produced video (Update 2017: said video has been removed), found on the Adobe Careers page, is a combination of the two above styles. It’s trying to be everything to everyone by showing profiles from multiple people in different careers in different locations. The video is long, about 14 minutes. It appears that it was very expensive to produce and as a result probably want this video to live on the site for a long time. Given they want this careers video to be evergreen no one provides any details to any specific project.

Type Of ServiceEvent Videography

Event videography is a video production, the art of capturing social and special events onto video by a videographer. The term is used to describe the videography of any event, aside from weddings and wedding videography.

1. Clarify the goal of every video

Of course, this will vary depending on whether the video is for your own company or an event you planned. And within each area, your objectives will also shift and change. Here are some possible video goals:

  • Double your social media follower count
  • Support a push for early-bird event registration
  • Hit a specific number of views
  • Demonstrate expertise in a particular event niche
  • Boost brand awareness

Professional video producers understand more is not better. Having a specific goal in mind helps you narrow the video’s focus. If you are making a video to boost brand awareness around your event business, don’t cover the last year of your work. Instead, choose one of your current projects, and zoom in on achievements that made you and your team high five. For example, show how you brainstormed a fun event tagline for an accountants conference or designed an ombre balloon bridge that stole the show.

For a video promoting an event, focus on one guest speaker, or record a run-through of a lively event ice breaker with your client’s team. Concentrated moments help viewers see themselves at the event; too many disconnected images and viewers tune out.

2. Keep your event planning videos short

According to Vidyard, shorter marketing videos equate to higher retention rates. Videos over 30 minutes have a retention rate of 10 percent, while videos between 30 and 90 seconds have an 11 percent retention rate. If you’re making a video for your website homepage, or an event landing page, Vidyard recommends keeping the videos between 30 and 60 seconds.

As you develop a following for your event expertise, however, you can increase the length of your explainer and how-to videos. A flower-arranging demo or an insider’s peek at your new office design may run between five and ten minutes.

For promotional videos for events, start with short segments when people are still deciding whether or not to register. As the event gets closer, lengthen the videos in marketing emails and on social media to build excitement and engagement among attendees.

3. Make it easy for people to find your videos

You need to use SEO (search engine optimization) tactics so that your video shows up when people search for your event or your event planning topic. Here are some essential strategies to use:

  • Enlist the right keywords. Research keywords related to the video subject matter (e.g., ‘business conference’ or ‘event planning tips’) for use in your video titles, tags, and URLs. Use digital marketing services such as Semrush, Moz Keyword Explorer, or Keywordtool.io, some of which offer a small number of free searches.
  • Go with longtail keywords if you can. Longtail keywords are long strings of words and phrases people might search. Think, ‘small business conferences in the northeast’ or ‘easy event layout hacks.’
  • Choose your thumbnail wisely. What appears before visitors click the arrow on your website or YouTube? It’s essential to manually select a still image or short video thumbnail to make the subject matter engaging and clear. Your video editing software will have a tool for creating still or video thumbnails.

  • Keep video titles short. For YouTube videos, the recommended title length is 70 characters with spaces.

OUR APPROACH TO FOOD VIDEOGRAPHY

At Yum Creative, we focus on 4 key areas that we believe are essential for making food videos viral and commercially successful.

  • The first is having the right video content strategy. A successful strategy can only be developed around each brand and its particularities. This requires research and knowledge about your goals, target audience, and competitors, all of which is key to having the expected results.

  • The second one is the Creative Development stage, where we create the recipe, script, and story of the video, based on the insights we get from the research.

  • The third key area is where the magic happens. This is the video production stage, where we cook, shoot, edit and make them look amazing. Here is where our food stylist works her magic and makes the dishes ''viralicious''

  • Last, we will index and tag your videos with your desired keywords, for search engine optimisation. Here is where you will need to do a bit of research and find the most appropriate keywords for your videos. We will advise on where you need to look for them and we will also provide tips and ideas on getting the most out of your food videos.

Type Of ServiceGeneral Videography

Videography refers to the process of capturing moving images on electronic media (e.g., videotape, direct to disk recording, or solid state storage) and even streaming media. The term includes methods of video production and post-production. It used to be considered the video equivalent of cinematography (moving images recorded on film stock), but the advent of digital video recording in the late 20th century blurred the distinction between the two, as in both methods the intermittent mechanism became the same. Nowadays, any video work could be called videography, whereas commercial motion picture production would be called cinematography. A videographer is a person who works in the field of videography and/or video production. News broadcasting relies heavily on live television where videographers engage in electronic news gathering (ENG) of local news stories.

1. Steady Eddie - Keep the camera steady. If possible, use a tripod. Don’t constantly zoom in & out or pan right to left. In general, you want to record at least :10 of each shot. Let the action in the frame speak for itself. You will thank yourself once you’re back in the editing room.

2. Wide, Medium, Close-up - For every scene or event you’re shooting, make sure to get different angles so that you’ll have choices in the editing process. For example, if you’re videotaping a protest, get the widest angle possible (perhaps on top of a building looking down on the crowd), then get close-ups of the faces in the crowd and then some medium shots of people from the ground level. Again, don’t forget the :10 rule for recording each shot.

3. What’s in the background? – When you’re shooting an interview or a speech, make sure to notice what's in the background. You can either move the camera to get the best angle, move the subject in front of a good background or create a new background. Ask yourself, does this background "support" this story visually?" Is it a good backdrop for what is being discussed?

4. Timelapse – time-lapse is one of the most visual and fun ways to capture an event or story. Before heading out for a shoot, think about whether the story could lend itself to a time-lapse shot. Various video cameras these days are equipped with special time-lapse settings. If they’re not, just set the camera up on a tripod and let it roll. You can always speed up the footage in editing later.

5. Lighting – The same rules that apply to photography, apply to videography. Always make sure your subjects are well lit (but please, not “over-lit”). As an example, don’t put an interview subject with their back to the sun. Or don’t put them under a shady tree with a bright scene in the background.

6. Anticipate action – This is one of those lessons that almost cannot be taught. It’s a skill that develops instinctively the more you shoot. Once you miss a few “money shots”, you’ll learn to start paying attention. A simple example of this is a baseball game. If you want to capture a player hitting the ball, you will need to anticipate that moment and begin recording a few seconds or minutes before. Once you realize the ball has been pitched, it’s too late. You’ve missed the moment.

DIY craft channels are huge and there is an endless supply of ideas you can take from Pinterest. I could definitely see my daughter doing a craft channel.

Decor

This is similar to crafts but take it a step further and make decor. Im sure there are endless ideas on Pinterest as well.

Lifestyle

I have seen loads of girls make lifestyle channels doing morning routines, first day of school, shopping hauls. Thats So Dorothy is a popular lifestyle channel you can get some inspiration from.

Destruction

There is always a new channel that explodes over night because they find an interesting new way to break something. The What’s Inside channel is a good example of this.

Restoration

Now I haven’t seen any kids doing a restoration channel but you totally could. It’s probably because this is a newer channel idea that I haven’t seen until recently.

If you remember Toy Story 2 when Woody got restored that scene was mesmerizing. I can see why this type of channel would do really well. Check out the channel Restore It for inspiration. I could see taking an old chair or doll and making it look new doing really well.

Experiments

The King of Random is the King of doing random experiments that get millions of views. Mix matching trendy pop culture with interesting science experiments is a great channel idea.

Kid Activities

If you have ever seen The Dad Lab on Instagram or Youtube you will see how this could be the perfect kid channel. There are endless kid activities that can be done that are fun and educational for kids.

Stop Motion

Before the days of Youtube I made some stop motion videos and they were a ton of fun. With new apps and technology to make this process way easier, I could see this being a great channel for kids who love legos or working with clay.

Science

Science is always a fun topic. Just think of doing endless science projects. For the inquisitive mind this could be a great channel idea.

Cooking

Cooking shows are super popular on Youtube and TV. I don’t think I have ever seen a Youtube channel like Chopped. I think that could be a great one to start if your child loves to cook.

Lifehacks

These channels grow so fast it is crazy. I think it is because they use everyday things to blow our minds. If your kid loves to tinker and figure out new ways of doing things this could be perfect. Mr Gear does lifehack videos on his channel all the time.

Primitive Technology

This would have been the perfect channel for me as a kid. I was always trying to build the next coolest fort or hut. These channels have become super popular recently so if your kid likes to play in the mud this could be the perfect channel idea.

Singing

If your child dreams of becoming a professional singer, then Youtube is the right place to be. That’s how Justin Beber got famous. Many others are doing the same. Just do covers or parodies of hit songs and you can make it big. This is a very competitive space and is a costly one to do right.

Piano

I am sure you have seen The Piano Guys well kids can do this too. Check out The Piano Gal. She is amazing and even plays the piano backwards.

String Instruments

From dancing while playing the violin like Lindsey Sterling to just playing the guitar. Really any instrument can be turned into a successful channel.

Video-modelling is a way to teach new skills or behaviour to children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The video shows someone doing a skill or behaviour. The child watching the video copies the skill or behaviour.

Gather Your Equipment

Fortunately for beginners, we live in a time where high-quality digital cameras are made to be affordable for personal and recreational use. You can practice videography with gadgets that you may already have, like your smartphone, as long as you keep these simple things in mind:

  • Use the back camera for better quality footage
  • Shoot in landscape mode (horizontally instead of vertically)
  • Turn on the overlay grid on your screen, if you have it, so you have a guide for keeping your phone level

If you have the budget for it, we definitely recommend purchasing a gimbal stabilizer for your camera for steadier handheld shots, an external microphone for better audio, and a reliable video tripod.

Plan Your Shoot

If you’re going to shoot a music video, commercial, or short film, you’ll have much more freedom to plan it from start to finish. To really do it like the pros, create your own storyboard with illustrations of your scenes in sequence. This will help you pre-visualize your final footage and outline your desired shots. It will serve as your guide during shooting and editing, plus it can help you determine the perfect time of day for shooting, your desired venues, and the right cameras to be used (in case you have several options) prior to filming.

On the other hand, if you’re covering an event, you’re going to want to be as ready as you possibly you can. For instance, in wedding videography, the wedding videographer should have a good idea about when and how to take videos of the bride, groom, and the wedding party.

A few helpful wedding videography tips to remember:

  • Make sure that you know the timeline for the entire wedding day like the back of your hand — from the ceremony to reception program.
  • Have a shot list prepared. This list should include the first kiss, the cake cutting, and other key moments that the couple would want to be immortalized.
  • Just as there are wedding photography styles, there are also certain shooting styles for wedding videography. Stick to a specific style. Be consistent and use the right one that fits the couple and their event for the perfect cinematic wedding video.
Have Good Lighting

One of the biggest secrets to achieving professional-looking videos is to use lighting for your storytelling. During conceptualization, try to be intentional about your lighting. Determine the types of lights that you need and where you will place them to achieve the effect that you want. Or if you’re on a budget and are working with existing lights (like lamps and the sun), think of how you can make it work for your particular scene.

For example, if you want a dramatic-looking scene, you’ll want shadows in the right places. On the contrary, having plenty of light can add cheer and create an ethereal feel, depending on your light placement.

Wedding videography is a video production that documents a wedding on video. The final product of the videographer's documentation is commonly called a wedding video. It is also referred to as a wedding movie, or a wedding film.

A Mixed-Media Wedding Video

Sometimes one film style isn't enough. Ask your videographer about mixing formats to create a combination of grainy Super 8, documentary, and cinematic style videography. The best part is that most of the effects can be done post-wedding in edit.

A Same-Day-Edit Video

It's exactly what it sounds like: Your videographer will shoot the entire wedding and then edit a short video that you can show to your guests at the reception. Think of it as an extra interactive reception element.

A Cinematic Wedding Video

A mix of color and black-and-white footage adds glamour to this timeless film style. Formal without feeling stuffy, a cinematic style wedding video captures every detail from virtually every angle.

A Movie-Inspired Save-the-Date Video

Base your save-the-date video off of your favorite movie style (in this case, Wes Anderson) for a totally personalized look. With a video camera and a little bit of editing know-how, you (or even better, your videographer) can create a short video to send to family and friends or to post on your wedding website.

A Wedding Music Video

You have to be brave to request this type of video. But you also have to admit that it doesn't get any more individual than this! Plus, it's a great way to make sure all your guests get some camera time on your wedding video.

A Love Story Interview Wedding Video

Finally, a way to preserve your love story -- in your own words. Share how you met, how he proposed, or simply the excitement you feel as your wedding day draws closer -- all on camera for your videographer to compile into a unique keepsake.

product video is an explainer video that effectively demonstrates the benefits of a product. While many product videos focus on the features of the product, we concentrates on how the product relieves the pain points these clients may encounter.
#1 – Announce Something Big

Don’t spill the beans through a tweet. Post a short video announcing the next big deal about your business and spread it on social media. Video marketing content allows you to build hype through genuine personality and on-screen animations.

#2 – Parody Something Popular

Can you think up a clever spin-off of a famous movie clip, music video, or something funny that has been making its rounds across the internet recently? People love seeing creative twists on relevant and fresh topics and, if you think of something original, you can use this fact to the advantage of your business. Act quickly, and don’t let the trend fade before you post a video. If you do, it will be like serving up stale bread–stay at the leading edge of the trend, don’t follow behind it.

#3 – Film Testimonials

Far too many businesses these days have missed out on the power of video testimonials. Having short written testimonials on your website is undoubtedly beneficial, but you should also interview your best customers and turn that footage into video testimonials. Video testimonials are more trustworthy compared to written ones. They bring the story of your best customers to life, making it easier for prospects to connect with their message.

Video portraits generally involve a person or group filmed looking at the lens for a few seconds. This may be within a studio or neutral environment, or in a setting that says something about the person themselves, their personality or their experience.

1. Take a Full-Length ShotI recommend devoting some time for good preparation in order to take shots similar to those which are taken by professionals. Interesting portrait photography isn't only about turning the camera towards the subject. Start with setting proper lighting and exposure. Next, think of an ideal composition and ask the model to pose in the way he/she will look great.

2. Use Natural FramesIt goes without saying that framing is an important aspect of unique portrait photography composition. But the situation changes when the process takes place in the studio. So you should pay special attention to any available frames, like a window, doorway, own hands or a hole that can serve as a frame.

3. Take Portrait SeriesWant to realize many portrait photography ideas? Then try the burst shooting mode on your camera. Feel free to use it while taking portraits. It is very convenient, as allows for taking several photos and then choosing the best one. Finally, you can make a collage of these portraits.

4. Experiment with ReflectionAny kind of mirror, even a broken one, can help implement creative portrait ideas. Take it and hold at the arm's length. Take an interesting photo of a model reflected in a mirror. Judging by personal experience I know that it's better to leave some room for extra details in the background.

There is no one right way to make a product video. Depending on your vertical, customers have various expectations on what they want to see. And, they have various needs based on how they make purchasing decisions.

There are a few things though that are common to all the best product videos out there.

  • They tell a story: Without context, your product video isn’t going to make any sense. You could produce tons of product videos for your product page that just show the item in a 360 degree spin. But, what’s the point in spending the money to produce such a video that you can’t really use anywhere else? Your video needs to be branded. It needs put your product or service in context. That often means it needs to be shown in use, as a great example of your product — and why the customer can’t resist it. Use the video to continue re-iterating on your brand values and promise: essentially, a how-to video that can be repurposed throughout your marketing.
  • They are short: Aim to make a video topping out at 30 seconds — especially for the sake of sharing on social media. Yes, it’s hard to distill a message down to half a minute, but the best product videos make it look like a cinch. Some of the videos below go over this threshold, but pay attention to what’s happening in the video as to why. Some audience segments will be OK with extra video length if you’re pulling on other emotional strings.
  • They are human: The point of a product explainer video is to increase relate-ability between your brand and your customer. Text and images don’t get this across as well. You want the video production to show emotion and honesty — whether it shows actual people or is an animated video. You want potential customers to walk away feeling as though you understood them, and spoke to the core of their best self.
  • 1. Product Demo
  • As mentioned before, a study has proven that video is the perfect medium to explain users about your product. In a product demo video, you can show tutorials on how to use your product, what makes it different from the competitors, and even showcase your trademark features.

BioLite created an excellent product demo for its portable grill in 2013 and has since attracted over 100K views. The video starts off by opening the packaging and showing the viewers what’s inside the box. It then goes on to show how easy it is to set up, how to cook on it, and how to pack it up again once the viewers are done

  •

    2. Product Close-Ups
  • If you sell small, luxurious items like watches, rings, earrings, or necklaces, you can do a close-up video of your product that highlights its beauty and details. That way, the customers will get a better idea of what they’re going to get if they purchase the item.

Take a look at this old but gold advertisement from Rolex to promote Rolex Sky-Dweller which has gathered almost 100K views. The video itself wasn’t published by Rolex, but rather by another channel. This shows the power of good content, how people are willing to share a video if they think it’s good.
