International Competence Centre For Organic Agriculture

In 2003, a number of NGOs, farmer organizations, companies, research institutions and government agencies took the initiative of forming an organization to provide services to the organic farming and organic stakeholders in India. In a planning workshop at National Academy for Agricultural Sciences (NAAS), Delhi, the stakeholders agreed on a joint vision and road map for building up the Competence Centre.

Our Vision

ICCOA aims at becoming a Knowledge and Learning Centre for all facets of organic agriculture. An excellent provider of information services, advice and market linkages to everyone involved in organic agriculture.

Our Mission

It is ICCOA's mission to help build the competence of individuals and organizations of the South Asian region in organic agriculture and thereby contribute to building ecologically, economically and socially sustainable agriculture and organic business.

Our Partners

ICCOA has a strategy to grow as an effective interface organization, while remaining lean and efficient. Therefore, it values building Partnerships with national and international institutions and individuals in the organic sector such as National Centre of Organic Farming (Ministry of Agriculture), APEDA, FiBL, IFOAM, BioFach India, etc.
In June 2008, ICCOA has signed an MoU with Nuremberg Messe (Organizer of BioFach - World Organic Trade Fair) for bringing the BioFach Trade Fair to India. The first BioFach India will be organised in 2009, with ICCOA as a close partner (Together with ICCOA).
ICCOA has an ongoing patnership with FiBL (Research Institute of Organic Agriculture in Switzerland) for technical collaboration. The two institutions foresee vast scope for a strong partnership in implementing various programs jointly in South Asia region.
A MoU has also been signified between ICCOA and ACDI / VOCA regarding co-operation under the USAID - funded GMED Program

Our Team

Mr. Manoj Kumar Menon is the Executive Director of ICCOA. Previously, he was head of its Market Development programs since August 2004. He was also the Co-ordinator of both editions of the “India Organic trade fairs" ( 2005 & 2006 ), the flagship products of ICCOA. He was State University topper in his degree in Agriculture from Gujarat Agriculture University. He has done his MBA from 'Faculty of Management Studies (FMS)', University of Delhi. He has over 12 years of experience in management of agricultural projects, estates, input marketing and market developments etc. He has also represented ICCOA internationally at the BioFach, IFOAM, FiBL and at various forum nationally.
