Darbilen 200mcg Injection contains the active constituent darbepoetin alfa. It is used to treat anemia. Anemia is a condition in which blood does not contain enough red blood cells. As a result, you may experience weakness, shortness of breath, and fatigue.
Darbilen 200mcg Injection is used to treat symptomatic anemia associated with kidney failure and chemotherapy (cancer treatment) of non-myeloid malignancies (non-bone marrow cancer). In kidney failure, the kidney fails to produce the natural hormone erythropoietin, which plays a key role in the production of red blood cells. The important side effect associated with chemotherapy is that it stops the bone marrow from producing sufficient blood cells.
Talk to your doctor if you have seizures, high blood pressure, sickle cell anemia, liver disorders, hepatitis C, allergic conditions, or lack of response to medicines used to treat anemia before taking Darbilen 200mcg Injection. It is contraindicated in patients with uncontrolled blood pressure.
Uses of Darbilen 200mcg Injection:
Treatment of symptomatic anemia in:
- Patients with chronic renal failure (kidney failure)
- Patients receiving chemotherapy for non-bone marrow cancers
How Darbilen 200mcg Injection works:
Darbilen 200mcg Injection stimulates the bone marrow to produce more red blood cells in the same way as the natural hormone erythropoietin.
Interactions with other drugs:
Inform your doctor about any medications you are taking or have taken before the treatment.
More information:
- Keep Darbilen 200mcg Injection out of sight and reach of children.
- Store in refrigerator at 2°C - 8°C. Do not freeze.

| Usage/Application | Clinical |
Darbepoetin alfa injection is used to treat anemia (a lower than normal number of red blood cells) in people with chronic kidney failure (condition in which the kidneys slowly and permanently stop working over a period of time). Darbepoetin alfa injection is also used to treat anemia caused by chemotherapy in people with certain types of cancer. Darbepoetin alfa cannot be used in place of a red blood cell transfusion to treat severe anemia and has not been shown to improve tiredness or poor well-being that may be caused by anemia. Darbepoetin alfa is in a class of medications called erythropoiesis-stimulating agents (ESAs). It works by causing the bone marrow (soft tissue inside the bones where blood is made) to make more red blood cells.

PRODUCT DETAILSAbout Daripro-25Mcg/0.42Ml Inj
Daripro-25Mcg/0.42Ml Inj belongs to the class of medication called 'blood-forming agent' primarily used to treat anaemia (low red blood cell count) in person with long-term serious (chronic) kidney disease and persons receiving chemotherapy for some types of cancer (except for bone marrow or blood cells' cancer). Daripro-25Mcg/0.42Ml Inj helps to reverse anaemia and reduce the need for blood transfusion. Anaemia occurs when the body has a lower amount of red blood cells or haemoglobin. In chronic kidney disease, the kidney gets damaged and doesn't filter the blood, leading to anaemia.
Daripro-25Mcg/0.42Ml Inj contains a protein 'Darbepoetin alfa' which works by providing signals to the bone marrow to make more red blood cells. Daripro-25Mcg/0.42Ml Inj is a biologic response modifier and erythropoiesis-stimulating protein. In chronic kidney disease, when the kidney fails to produce sufficient 'erythropoietin protein' which aids in the formation of red blood cells, Daripro-25Mcg/0.42Ml Inj stimulates the production of this protein in the bone marrow.
Daripro-25Mcg/0.42Ml Inj will be injected by the healthcare provider. Do not self-administer. The most common side effects of Daripro-25Mcg/0.42Ml Inj are shortness of breath, cough, low blood pressure during dialysis, headache, body aches, diarrhoea, injection site pain and abdominal pain. Most of these sides effects of Daripro-25Mcg/0.42Ml Inj do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.
If you have uncontrolled/untreated high blood pressure or red cell aplasia (a type of anaemia) due to darbepoetin alfa or epoetin alfa, please inform your doctor before taking Daripro-25Mcg/0.42Ml Inj to avoid any complications. Also, mention all the other medications you are taking to affect the way Daripro-25Mcg/0.42Ml Inj works. Inform your doctor immediately, if you feel weak, lightheaded, tired, or short of breath, or if your skin looks pale as it may be signs that the body has stopped responding to Daripro-25Mcg/0.42Ml Inj.
Uses of Daripro-25Mcg/0.42Ml InjAnaemia (in cancer and chronic kidney disease)
Medicinal BenefitsDaripro-25Mcg/0.42Ml Inj is a human-made form of naturally occurring erythropoiesis-stimulating protein or erythropoietin (a hormone produced by the kidney's specialized cells and is responsible for protecting red blood cells against destruction and also stimulates the cells of bone marrow to produce more amount of red blood cells). Deficiency of erythropoietin happens when a person is suffering from chronic kidney diseases, which in turn cause low red blood cells count causing anaemia. This medicine is primarily indicated for treating anaemia (low red blood cell count) in persons with long-term serious (chronic) kidney disease and persons receiving chemotherapy for some types of cancer except for bone marrow or blood cells' cancer. Daripro-25Mcg/0.42Ml Inj contains a protein 'Darbepoetin alfa' which works by providing signals to the bone marrow to make more red blood cells.
Directions for UseDaripro-25Mcg/0.42Ml Inj will be administered by a healthcare professional; do not self-administer.StorageStore in a cool and dry place away from sunlightSide Effects of Daripro-25Mcg/0.42Ml Inj

INTRODUCTION
DARBOSIS 25MCG INJECTION contains Darbepoetin alfa which belongs to the group of medicines called Erythropoiesis-stimulating agents. It is used to treat symptomatic anemia associated with chronic renal failure (CRF) in adults and children. In kidney failure, the kidney does not produce enough erythropoietin (a natural hormone) which can often cause anemia.
Before DARBOSIS 25MCG INJECTION treatment, your doctor may want you to take blood tests to measure how your anaemia is responding and may adjust your dose to maintain long-term control of your condition. Your blood pressure will also be checked regularly, especially at the beginning of your treatment.
DARBOSIS 25MCG INJECTION is not recommended for use in patients having high blood pressure which is not being controlled. Before receiving DARBOSIS 25MCG INJECTION, inform your doctor if you have or ever had high blood pressure which is being controlled with medicines, sickle cell anemia, fits, liver disease, lack of response to medicines used to treat anemia, latex allergy or hepatitis C.
DARBOSIS 25MCG INJECTION should be used with caution in pregnant women. Patients must not breastfeed while receiving DARBOSIS 25MCG INJECTION. No data is available regarding DARBOSIS 25MCG INJECTION use in children (less than 1 month old) with CKD receiving and not receiving dialysis. The safety and efficacy of DARBOSIS 25MCG INJECTION in children with cancer have not been established so, consult your child’s doctor for advice.
The most common side effects of receiving DARBOSIS 25MCG INJECTION are high blood pressure, allergic reactions, pain around the area injected and rash or redness of the skin. Call your doctor if any of the symptoms worsen.
USES OF DARBOSIS 25MCG INJECTIONTreats symptomatic anemia
- Associated with chronic renal failure (CRF) in adults and children
- With non-myeloid malignancies receiving chemotherapy in adult cancer patients
DARBOSIS 25MCG INJECTION increases red blood cell counts by stimulating the bone marrow (soft tissue inside the bones where blood is made) to make more red blood cells.
