The knorr excellence model (ke), introduced in 2007, describes the vision in which the company progresses from “very good” to “excellent” in reaching its strategic goals in all areas. This is particularly important given that quality is the top requirement for knorr-bremse as a preparer of safety-critical systems.
The path toward ke has led us to harmonize previous management models for our business divisions into one common ke model, in which all processes are brought together and gradually and collectively improved. This means setting the right priorities together, speaking a common language, defining a common goal and developing a common understanding of how to reach this goal.
Furthermore, all previous and new initiatives for process optimization have been bundled under the umbrella of knorr excellence across all divisions. Our goal is excellence in all processes, ultimately achieving a comprehensive level of performance for our clients. Our new initiatives primarily involve development, production and logistics processes. Their results are in turn incorporated into the ke model as process-improving measures. Best practices can thus be exchanged among different company divisions and weaknesses in existing processes can be identified and eliminated.
