The combination contact drum/ platen sanding head shares a single belt but has a flat platen behind the contact drum. It can be operated in 3 modes:

• Drum only.
• Platen only.
• Drum and platen in tandem.

Thus it can produce the characteristics of either the aforementioned drum or Platen heads or a combination thereof. The combination head is usually furnished on single head sanders, but can be furnished as one head of a multi-head sander.

The machining centre SHARP with 6 axes is equipped with a very rigid gantry frame, especially suited for the production of elements of chairs, tables, beds, shells, stairs and musical instruments.

The working unit slides in vertical direction (axis Z) on an over dimensioned structure and it has got a Z stroke of 750 mm; the strokes of the 2 tables are 1800mm (longer on request) and allow a working  capacity in direction Y longer than 1300 mm, thanks also to the particular shape of CE protections.

The over dimensioning of the upright, allows wide transversal movements of the head (axis X) up to 1700mm (3000 mm optional), while the piece pass-through distance between the uprights is 1450 mm (2750 mm or wider on request). The max. width of pieces in movement inside the CE protection is 2800 mm (or higher).

The high dynamics of machining center SHARP is granted by the use of preloaded ball screws and high precision gear boxes, without any clearance and periodical adjustments, also thanks to a perfect automatic lubrication “from inside out”.

SHARP is a machining centre simple to be used and to be programmed, but able to reach the best performances. Beyond the conventional programming systems, SHARP can be programmed with its exclusive Bacci PITAGORA, which allows to exploit at the best the high dynamics of this machine, therefore reaching exceptional performances.
