Usage/Application | Treat certain types of brain cancer. |
Packaging Size | 5 Capsuls |
Dose/Strength | 20/100/250mg |
Form of Medicine | Capsuls |
Other Name | Temozolomide Capsule |
Uses:
This medication is used to treat certain types of brain cancer. Temozolomide belongs to a class of drugs known as alkylating agents. It works by slowing or stopping the growth of cancer cells.
How to Use Temodar:
- Read the Patient Information Leaflet if available from your pharmacist before you start taking temozolomide and each time you get a refill. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
- Take this medication by mouth as directed by your doctor, usually once a day on a treatment schedule. Swallow the capsules whole with a full glass of water (8 ounces or 240 milliliters). Do not crush, chew, or open the capsules. If you vomit after taking your dose, do not take any more medication. Wait and take your next dose at the regular time. To reduce nausea and vomiting, take temozolomide on an empty stomach or at bedtime. For the best effect, take this medication at the same time every day in relation to a meal (for example, 1 hour before or 3 hours after a meal).
- The dosage and treatment schedule are based on your medical condition, height, weight, and response to treatment. Carefully follow your doctor's directions for taking this medication. To help you remember, mark your calendar to keep track of when to take the next dose.
- Your doctor may also prescribe other medications (such as antibiotics) to help prevent infection or side effects. Follow your doctor's directions for taking all your medications.
- Do not increase your dose or use this drug more often or for longer than prescribed. Your condition will not improve any faster, and your risk of serious side effects will increase.
- If the capsules are accidentally opened or damaged, avoid inhaling the medication or getting it on your skin. If contact occurs, flush the area with water. Since this drug can be absorbed through the skin and lungs and may harm an unborn baby, women who are pregnant or who may become pregnant should not handle this medication or breathe the dust from the capsules.
Side Effects:
Nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, mouth sores, changes in taste, constipation, tiredness, dizziness, trouble sleeping, or headache may occur. Nausea and vomiting can be severe. In some cases, your doctor may prescribe medication to prevent or relieve nausea and vomiting. Eating several small meals, not eating before treatment, or limiting activity may help lessen some of these effects. If any of these effects last or get worse, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
Precautions
- Before taking temozolomide, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or to dacarbazine; or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.

Form of Medicine | Capsuls |
Expiry Date | More then 1.5 Years |
Brand | Cipla |
Indication:
Hydroxyurea is used to treat skin cancer (melanoma), a cancer of the white blood cells called chronic myelocytic leukemia (CML), and metastatic cancer (cancer that has spread) of the ovaries. This medicine may also be given together with radiation treatment for head and neck cancer (primary squamous cell cancer).Hydroxyurea is also used in adult patients with sickle cell anemia to prevent painful episodes and reduce the need for blood transfusions. It works by making the red blood cells more flexible.
Mechanism of action:
Hydroxyurea decreases the production of deoxyribonucleotides via inhibition of the enzyme ribonucleotide reductase by scavenging tyrosyl free radicals as they are involved in the reduction NDPs. In the treatment of sickle-cell disease, Hydroxyurea increases the concentration of fetal hemoglobin. The precise mechanism of action is not yet clear, but it appears that h Hydroxyurea increases nitric oxide levels, causing soluble guanylyl cyclase activation with a resultant rise in cyclic GMP, and the activation of gamma globin chain synthesis necessary for fetal hemoglobin production (which inhibits the formation of sickle hemoglobin aggregates). A few red cell clones called F cells are progeny of a small pool of immature committed erythroid precursors (BFU-e) that retain the ability to produce HbF.

Sorafenat Tablets

Brand | NATCO |
Composition | Sorafenib Tosylate |
Dose/Strength | 600 mg |
Packaging Size | 30 Tablets |
Indication:
- This drug is used with other HIV medications to help control HIV infection.
- It helps to decrease the amount of HIV in your body so your immune system can work better.
- This lowers your chance of getting HIV complications (such as new infections, cancer) and improves your quality of life. Efavir (Efavirenz) belongs to a class of drugs known as non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NNRTIs).
Mechanism of action:
- Efavir (Efavirenz) falls in the NNRTI class of antiretrovirals. Both nucleoside and non-nucleoside RTIs inhibit the same target, the reverse transcriptase enzyme, an essential viral enzyme which transcribes viral RNA into DNA.
- Unlike nucleoside RTIs, which bind at the enzyme''s active site, NNRTIs act allosterically by binding to a distinct site away from the active site known as the NNRTI pocket.
- Efavir (Efavirenz) is not effective against HIV-2, as the pocket of the HIV-2 reverse transcriptase has a different structure, which confers intrinsic resistance to the NNRTI class.
Precaution:
- Before taking Efavir (Efavirenz), tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or if you have any other allergies.
- This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems.
- Talk to your pharmacist for more details.

Bortecad Injection
Get Latest Price
Packaging Type | Glass Bottle |
Dose/Strength | 2mg |
Brand | Cadila |
Usage | Clinical |
Indication:
It is the first therapeutic proteasome inhibitor to be tested in humans. Proteasomes are cellular complexes that break down proteins. In some cancers, the proteins that normally kill cancer cells are broken down too quickly. Bortezomib interrupts this process and lets those proteins kill the cancer cells. It is approved in the U.S. for treating relapsed multiple myeloma and mantle cell lymphoma. In multiple myeloma, complete clinical responses have been obtained in patients with otherwise refractory or rapidly advancing disease.
Mechanism of Action:
The boron atom in bortezomib binds the catalytic site of the 26S proteasome] with high affinity and specificity. In normal cells, the proteasome regulates protein expression and function by degradation of ubiquitylated proteins, and also cleanses the cell of abnormal or misfolded proteins. Clinical and preclinical data support a role in maintaining the immortal phenotype of myeloma cells, and cell-culture and xenograft data support a similar function in solid tumor cancers.
Dosage and Administration:
Use bortezomib as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.
- Drinking extra fluids while you are taking bortezomib is recommended. Check with your doctor for instructions.
- Bortezomib is given as an injection into a vein or under the skin at your doctor''s office, hospital, or clinic. Bortezomib is not intended to be injected into the spinal cord. Contact your health care provider if you have any questions.
- It is very important that each dose is given at the scheduled time. If you miss a dose of bortezomib, contact your doctor right away to establish a new dosing schedule. Do not use 2 doses at once.
- Ask your health care provider any questions you may have about how to use bortezomib.
Side Effects:
Check with your doctor if any of these most COMMON side effects persist or become bothersome:
Constipation; diarrhea; dizziness; headache; loss of appetite; mild stomach pain; nausea; stomach upset; taste changes; tiredness; trouble sleeping; vomiting; weakness.
Precaution:
- Bortezomib may cause dizziness, fatigue, fainting, or vision changes. These effects may be worse if you take it with alcohol or certain medicines. Use bortezomib with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to it.
- Bortezomib may cause dizziness, light-headedness, or fainting; alcohol, hot weather, exercise, or fever may increase these effects. To prevent them, sit up or stand slowly, especially in the morning. Sit or lie down at the first sign of any of these effects.
Store:
Store the medicine in a closed container at room temperature, away from heat, moisture, and direct light. Keep from freezing.Keep out of the reach of children.Do not keep outdated medicine or medicine no longer needed.

Temozolomide Capsules
Get Latest Price
Brand | Natco |
Packaging Type | Bottle |
Composition | Temonat Capsules |
Packaging Size | 5 Capsules |
Indication:
It is used as a treatment of some brain cancers; as a second-line treatment for astrocytoma and a first-line treatment for glioblastoma multiforme.
Temonat (Temozolomide) is an antineoplastic agent. It works by stopping cancer cells from growing and reproducing.
Mechanism of Action:
The therapeutic benefit of Temonat (Temozolomide) depends on its ability toalkylate/methylate DNA, which most often occurs at the N-7 or O-6 positions ofguanine residues. This methylation damages the DNA and triggers the death of tumor cells. However, some tumor cells are able to repair this type of DNA damage, and therefore diminish the therapeutic efficacy of Temonat (Temozolomide) , by expressing a protein O6-alkylguanine DNA alkyltransferase (AGT) encoded in humans by the O-6-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase (MGMT) gene.In some tumors, epigenetic silencing of the MGMT gene prevents the synthesis of this enzyme, and as a consequence such tumors are more sensitive to killing by Temonat (Temozolomide) .Conversely, the presence of AGT protein in brain tumors predicts poor response to Temonat (Temozolomide) and these patients receive little benefit from chemotherapy with Temonat (Temozolomide) .
Dosage and Administration:
- This medication is given in a capsule form by mouth.
- Take on an empty stomach (1 hour before or 2 hours after meals or at bedtime) to reduce stomach upset.
- Do not open, crush, or chew capsules; swallow capsules whole with full 8 ounces of water.
- The frequency and the amount of this medication you will receive depends on many factors, including your height and weight, your general health or other health problems, and the type of cancer you have. Your doctor will determine your dosage and schedule.
Side Effects:
All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. Check with your doctor if any of these most COMMON side effects persist or become bothersome:
Anxiety; back pain; breast pain; constipation; cough; diarrhea; dizziness; drowsiness; dry skin; hair loss; headache; joint pain; loss of appetite; mild stomach pain; mouth or tongue sores; muscle aches; nausea; taste changes; tiredness; trouble sleeping; vomiting; weakness; weight gain.
Precaution:
- Before starting Temonat (Temozolomide) treatment, make sure you tell your doctor about any other medications you are taking (including prescription, over-the-counter, vitamins, herbal remedies, etc.). Do not take , or products containing aspirin unless your doctor specifically permits this.
- Do not receive any kind of immunization or vaccination without your doctor's approval while taking Temonat (Temozolomide) .
- Let your health care provider know if you've had an allergic reaction to this drug or dacarbazine (DTIC) in the past, you may not be able to take temozolamide.
Store:
Temonat (Temozolomide) is usually handled and stored by a health care provider. If you are using Temonat (Temozolomide) at home, store Temonat (Temozolomide) as directed by your pharmacist or health care provider. Keep Temonat (Temozolomide) out of the reach of children and away from pets.
