Infrared Moisture Balance is an instrument for measuring the moisture content of materials that do not change their chemical structure while loosing water under exposure to infrared radiation. The instrument is widely used for testing chemicals, pharmaceuticals, tea industries, flour mills, cement plants, soils used in construction, agricultural soils, foods and similar materials. 

The moisture content of a product is the weight of water present with respect to its dry weight expressed as a percentage with the Infrared Moisture Meter. The moisture is driven out by infrared radiation.

A pan attached to a torsion wire balance holds the sample. The drying takes place continuously and the weighing is done simultaneously which makes the instrument specially suitable for materials which quickly absorb moisture.

The instrument consists of a 250 W infrared bulb, a sensitive torsion balance with magnetic damping, a controller for regulating the voltage, all housed in a compact cabinet of aluminium finished in an attractive stove baked enamel. The instrument is directly calibrated in percentage of moisture. A 'L' shaped thermometer indicates temperature in the chamber. The instrument is supplied with a dozen disposable pans.

It consists of a collector base made of FRP with locking arrangements, 4 litres bottle and an additional cylinder of 10 litres with glass measuring cylinder. 

The Sunshine Recorder is an instrument for accurate measurement of the duration of bright sunshine at a place. Even though, there are various other types of instruments available for this purpose, Campbell stokes type is preferred as an interim reference recorder and used extensively by all countries.

The sun rays are focused by a glass sphere to an intense spot which, as the sun moves across the sky, burns a trace of length proportional to the duration of sunshine ona special card. The card is inserted into grooves in a bowl of spherical section mounted concentrically with the sphere.

The sphere made of well annealed colourless optical glass, is securely clamped to a semicircular metal are by means of 2 caps attached precisely across a diameter. The bowl, machined from a hollow sphere, in the form of a belt, is also mounted on the arc. The arc is mounted on a marble base. The concentricity is ensured by a sphere centring gauge. Three overlapping pairs of grooves in the bowl accept recording cards suitable for summer, equinoctial and winter seasons. The instrument generally conforms to IS7243.
