Belleville Washers/ Spring Washers are widely used as compression springs to support large loads where space in the direction of loading is limited. They can be statically loaded as well as intermittently loaded or subjected to continuous dynamic loads.

The benefit of this particular type of Belleville washers is that it does not take a permanent set on application as a permanent set due to stresses exceeding the elastic limit of the washers material, can result in internal strains & washer failures.
