Nataraja is a handmade, one of a class, bronze sculpture cast by the artists of South India using the lost wax method, a skill passed on for generations since the Chola era. There is only one Nataraja like this ever prepared!

The bronze dancing Lord Shiva as Lord Nataraja is the most decipherable figure in all of Hinduism.  The Nataraja has perfect equilibrium and proportions which are the key to a fine Nataraja statue.  This small sculpture would be ideal for a home altar.

About the Golden Polish:  This bronze figurine has been polished after casting giving it a golden shine.  Polished bronze pieces are regularly used in temples.  Temples prefer the polished bronze icons because the rituals involved in puja often engage bathing the bronze idol, which naturally removes the bronze patina of an older piece.  Over a point in time and with no form a dark patina that is naturally found on matured bronze.
