Heat Exchanger Gasket is a term that has been given to gasket used in heat exchangers. The structure of the gasket or its type varies according to the operating conditions of the exchangers. The heat exchanger gaskets come in a wide spectra of types including single or double jacketed, corrugated, plain metal, soft and many other. A large selection of different materials allows heat exchangers to operate at temperatures beyond the capabilities of most soft gasket materials.These gaskets are used in shell and tube type heat exchangers. They can be manufactured in very different sizes, shapes, with or without bars. The primary seal is at the inner diameter of the gasket, the outer gasket diameter acts as a secondary seal. The bars seal between the heat exchangers passages.The Heat exchanger gaskets are produced in several types to meet the most demanding applications. Gaskets for heat exchangers can be manufactured in metal or alloy with a thickness 0.4 mm - 0.5 mm featuring a soft core inside a metallic jacket.We offer premium quality Heat Exchanger Gaskets which are widely used for heat transfer applications for sealing and jointing of two metal pipes.The polymers which are used for making Heat Exchanger Gaskets are Natural, Nitrile, Neoprene, SBR, EPDM & synthetic Rubber. Further, we provide these Heat Exchanger Gaskets in different sizes to meet the varied needs of the clients.We also supplier plate (and frame) heat exchangers, the standard materials are EPDM and Nitrile rubber (NBR). EPDM is used normally for non-fatty/oily applications, and NBR for oil/fat applications. However, there are no rules without exceptions. The plate type heat exchanger is the mostefficient type of heat exchangerwith its low cost, flexibility, easy maintenance, and high thermal tranfer. WCR plate corrugations are designed to achieve turbulence across the entire heat transfer area. This producesthe highest possible heat transfer coefficients with the lowest possible pressure drop,allowing for close temperatureapproaches.Subsequently, this leads toasmaller heat transfer area, smaller units and in some cases,fewer heat exchangers. This benefitsthe customer tremendously by requiringless space, reduced secondary flow rates and smaller pumps.The WCR Plate Heat Exchanger consists of a specific number of gasketed plates which are fixed between a top carrying bar and a lower guide bar. The plates are compressed by means of tie barsbetween a stationary frame plate (the head)and a moveable frame (the follower). Fluids enter the plate heat exchanger through frame connections and are distributed inbetweentheplates. Theflow throughalternate passages between the plates is controlled by the placement of gaskets. These are available in single and multi-pass arrangements, depending upon the application.

FRESH WATER GENERATOR

Fresh water generator, one of the important machinery on board a ship, is something that cannot be done without. Fresh water produced from fresh water generator is used for drinking, cooking, washing and even running other important machinery which use fresh water as a cooling medium. Fresh water is generally produced on board using the evaporation method. There are two things that are available in plenty on ship to produce fresh water –Seawater and heat. Thus fresh water is produced by evaporating sea water using heat from any of the heat source. The evaporated sea water is then again cooled by the sea water and the cycle repeats. Generally the heat source available is taken from the main engine jacket water, which is used for cooling the main engine components such as cylinder head, liner etc. The temperature available from this jacket water is about 70 deg. centigrade. But at this temperature the evaporation of water is not possible as we all know that theEvaporation of water takes place at 100 deg centigrade under atmospheric pressure. Thus in order to produce fresh water at 70 degrees we need to reduce the atmospheric pressure, which is done by creating a vacuum inside the chamber where the evaporation is taking place. Also, as a result of the vacuum the cooling of the evaporated sea water will also take place at lower temperature. This cooled water is collected and transferred to the tank. Nowadays, reverse osmosis is one of the methods which are used on board for generating fresh water. Generally this is used on passenger vessels wherein there is a large requirement of fresh water production. However, in merchant ships the evaporation method is used as reverse osmosis is costly and includes large maintenance cost for membrane.
