Cooling towers are heat removal devices used to transfer process waste heat to the atmosphere.
Common applications include cooling the circulating water used in oil refineries, chemical plants, power plants, petrochemical plants, natural gas plant, processing plants, food processing plants, semi-conductor plants, building cooling, and other industrial facilities.
As mentioned above all the cooling towers are operated in the environment full of steam and water that is why most of the cooling accessories of the cooling tower are made of either good quality wood or of fiber and same is applicable for the cooling fan in cooling towers.
The fans mainly used in cooling towers are operate in full of corrosive environment, therefore its performance reduces over a period of time due to corrosion on the fan's surface. The efficiency of cooling tower fan reduces significantly which lead to several cooling problems like improper cooling, non-maintenance of water temperature, proper cooling but with higher power consumption.
It is a common mistake that upon reduction in cooling capacity of cooling tower, the fan blade angle is increased to maintain the cooling tower airflow requirement but increasing the airflow by increasing the blade angle of cooling tower fan, increase the power in cube of the airflow i.e.KW1/KW2= (Q1/Q2) ^3 ,(Increase of 10% of the air flow results in 33.1% increase in the power consumption by the cooling tower fan)

Introduction of fiber glass composite material and ease of processing helped in designing cooling tower fan to adopt more efficient profiles with optimum distribution of fan blade chord and twist, which are difficult to generate with metallic material. 1.With our expertise in the axial fan blades design Maxion cooling tower fan uses the most efficient aerodynamic profile for the blades designed we accept the challenge to prove power saving not only over metallic cooling tower fans but also against other FRP cooling tower fans.
2.. Only Maxion cooling tower fan blades have the aerodynamic profile over its full blade length compared to other manufacturers providing conventional cooling tower fan having approximately 30% blank portion in the blade which does not present aerodynamic profile.
3. Maxion aerodynamic hub is the best solution for reduction of air turbulences near the neck of the cooling tower fan blade and to reduce the mechanical hub dimension as well.

The Spray Nozzle, the cheapest in Value of the cooling tower parts, but plays a critical role in deciding the efficiency & size of the cooling tower.

 

Maxion  is not just a Nozzle manufacturer, we also simulate the performance of the cooling tower Nozzles in our works with our Nozzle flow testing facility to analyse every contours in the design of the Nozzle. We have successfully supported many of our OEM- cooling tower manufacturing customers in reducing the size of the cooling tower thereby reducing the cost of the cooling tower by efficiently utilizing every space available beneath the Nozzle for cooling application. The space to be provided between each Nozzle & wet surface area available over the packing fill depends on the Nozzle.

 

Maxion manufactures Nozzles different shapes & in different orifice sizes for achieving flow characteristics. Every Nozzle has different levels of spread zones to split the water in to the droplets as possible. Sizes of the droplets are also very important as too small droplets may get carried away by the cooling air & heavier film formation may act as a hindrance to the flow path of the cooling air. Within these two extremes, Nozzles are designed by the designer & supplied according to the client needs.
