Alpha-lipoic acid is a compound found naturally inside every cell of the human body. Vitamin K was discovered in 1929 as an essential nutrient for blood coagulation (blood clotting).

Folate and folic acid are forms of a water-soluble B vitamin. Folate occurs naturally in food, and folic acid is the synthetic form of this vitamin.
