An Agitated Nutsche Filter (ANF) is a closed, pressure or vacuum-operated filtration system widely used in chemical, pharmaceutical, and food industries for efficient solid–liquid separation. It consists of a vertical cylindrical vessel with a filter base, an agitator, and a discharge system, allowing multiple operations such as filtration, washing, and drying to be carried out in a single unit. In operation, a slurry is introduced into the vessel, where the liquid passes through the filter medium and the solid forms a cake on the surface. The agitator helps in uniformly washing the cake by mixing it with wash liquids and can also break and reslurry the cake to improve impurity removal.
