Ultra High Molecular Weight (UHMWPE) Polyethylene materials have unique properties like high impact resistance, durability, high thermal conductivity and low dielectric constant. Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) which the molecular weight is about 10 times greater than High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) resins and its density makes finished parts approximately eight times lighter than steel. UHMWPE is used in marine structures for the mooring of ships and floating structures in general. The UHMWPE forms the contact surface between the floating structure and the fixed one. UHMWPE is chosen as facing of fender systems for berthing structures.
