The Institute was initially registered as a society under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 vide Regd. No. 268 at Visakhapatnam on 20th day of March One thousand Nine hundred ninety eight, subsequently elevated in promoting career oriented courses. The institute is the dream come true of its founder Philomath - Sri Vanumu Srinivasa Rao who hailed form hamlet of Vizianagaram (Dt) of A.P. State The society is a non-profit organization created by us. Our executive body, to offer quality human resources and services both to the IT Industry and the Government/Society, and in the process bridge the gap between government, University and Industry. To realize its vision “PEWS” has acquired the necessary key human recourses a team of highly qualified, skilled individuals, while also mustering support from educational institutions, corporate society and a committed state government. In recognition of the potential role to be played in e-Governance, human resource development and promotion of IT-Industry, the Andhra Pradesh Government in its ICT policy for the next five years. AIMS AND OBJECTIVES The college aims at an integral and personalized training of young men and women through Integral Pedagogy – Context, Experience, Reflection, Action and Evaluation –to be well motivated teachers who will be intellectually competent, morally upright, socially committed and spiritually inspired. It is the aim of Pragathi Polytechnic College that the students who take their training here become well formed guides who will accompany the young learner on his or her journey of becoming a fully human person. The college, therefore, offers an all-round training, one that is at once intellectual, cultural, social, emotional, physical, aesthetic, moral and spiritual.
